Hyuga Shinichi

(The protagonist is not a transmigrator but a reincarnator, essentially living another life in this world. I don't want to describe his previous life in too much detail; perhaps it will come up in later memories.

The protagonist's backstory is that his parents died early and left him more money than he could ever spend. But he didn't squander it on a life of pleasure. After graduating from college, he shut himself away like a shut-in.

He spent all day cooped up at home, muddling through life and rarely going out, so he hadn't really experienced much in his previous life. Reincarnating into Naruto had only given him the mind of an adult.

But because he hadn't experienced many things, when he encountered them for the first time in the world of Naruto, he would be like an innocent child discovering something new.

For example, making a friend for the first time, feeling the love of family for the first time, and wanting to live in this world without regrets.

So the story may become a bit of an ensemble later on. After all, everyone around the protagonist is a living, breathing person, not an NPC, and each of them has a life of their own.

This is the author's first time writing a novel. If you find anything wrong or unreasonable in this story, feel free to point it out in the comments. The author will read them and reply.

The author is a devoted Naruto fan and has watched and read the anime and manga several times. I'll make sure the timeline and events are accurate.

Although some of Kishimoto's timelines are indeed pretty messy, I'll do my best to straighten them out with original plotlines.

My goal is to write all the way to Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. The Otsutsuki plotlines are quite interesting. The story will start off slowly, but everything is setup for later, so I hope you'll keep reading. Thank you all.

Two figures stood in the middle of the training ground in the Hyuga Clan Compound in Konoha.

"Byakugan! Wind Style: Vacuum Blast!"

The veins around the black-haired boy's eyes bulged as he looked ahead. He turned his body slightly and held his right hand at his waist, palm out, gathering wind-nature chakra in his palm. Once he had compressed the chakra into a single point, he thrust his hand forward with all his might.

"Bring it on! Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm!"

The slightly older boy also thrust out his palm with all his strength, sending a Vacuum Wave straight toward his opponent.

Boom!

The two Vacuum Waves collided and exploded between them, blowing their hair back.

"Hahahaha! What do you think, Big Brother Hiashi?"

"Shinichi, your Wind Style: Vacuum Blast is pretty good. It packs quite a punch!"

"Heh, heh. I haven't even perfected it yet. I still can't compress all the wind-nature chakra into a single point. If I could, its power would double."

Just then, a small figure ran up from among the people watching from the sidelines.

"Shinichi, you could use the Byakugan before you were even three. I believe you'll master this technique soon, too."

"Hahahaha, Big Brother Hizashi, you think so too? And you think it's amazing that I could use the Byakugan before I was even three, right?"

The brothers Hiashi and Hizashi exchanged glances and smiled helplessly. Their clan cousin was great in every way, but he was always showing off to them.

The words "amazing" and "showing off" were among the strange expressions Hyuga Shinichi had taught them in their daily conversations. It was only natural that a genius like Hyuga Shinichi would come up with odd phrases, so they didn't think much of it.

In truth, Hyuga Shinichi wasn't an ordinary person. He was a transmigrator—or, more accurately, a reincarnator, since he had been reborn. What puzzled him was that he had somehow reincarnated into the world of Naruto, carrying hazy memories of his previous life and becoming a baby still in the womb.

His father was named Hyuga Taiwa, and his mother was named Hyuga Kaoru. Sadly, his father's old wounds flared up while his mother was pregnant, and he eventually passed away as his condition worsened.

After his mother gave birth to Hyuga Shinichi with great difficulty, she died from the complications. Shinichi had heard people in the clan talk about why the birth had been so difficult. They said she might have fallen into sorrow and gloom after her husband's death, causing her health to steadily decline.

After giving birth to Hyuga Shinichi and giving him the name she and her husband had chosen during the pregnancy, a name filled with all their love, she passed away.

And so, the name "Hyuga Shinichi" was born in the Shinobi World.

Usually, when someone lost both parents, they would have a worse life than Naruto if nobody looked after them. They might not even get to eat expired food. But heaven had smiled on him: Hyuga Shinichi was born into the Hyuga Clan, and even belonged to the Main House.

Hyuga Shinichi was born in September of Konoha's twenty-fifth year, while his two clan brothers had both been born in January of Konoha's twenty-second year, making them three years older than him.

It was now Konoha's twenty-eighth year. Hyuga Shinichi was two, almost three.

"You three, come here."

A middle-aged man seated on a chair outside the training ground beckoned to them. When the three approached, he spoke.

"Hiashi, you need to keep working hard. Unlocking the Byakugan takes constant training and practice. The same goes for you, Hizashi. As a Branch House member, without strength, you won't be able to protect the Main House..."

The middle-aged man fell silent for a moment, then looked at Hyuga Shinichi and continued.

"Shinichi, for someone your age to have awakened the Byakugan is nothing short of extraordinary. There isn't even a record in the Hyuga Clan of anyone awakening it this young. But don't get too proud. You still have a lot to learn. Keep working hard, all of you."

"Yes, Clan Head!" ×3

The man speaking to the three of them was the current head of the Hyuga Clan's Main House, as well as the father of the brothers Hiashi and Hizashi: Hyuga Nimitsu. (I couldn't find what his name was, so I made one up.)

As far as Hyuga Shinichi was concerned, the silence that had fallen when Nimitsu mentioned Hizashi said a lot. Before Shinichi was born, when the brothers turned three, Hizashi had been branded with the Caged Bird and made a member of the Branch House.

No father wanted his child to risk his life protecting another child, but this was also how the Hyuga Clan ensured its continued survival.

"By the way, Shinichi, do you want to enroll in the Ninja Academy?"

"Yes, Clan Head! I can tell that my talent for wind-nature chakra is exceptional, and I want to study at the Ninja Academy and improve."

Earlier, Hyuga Shinichi had used Chakra Induction Paper to test his chakra nature. When he infused it with chakra, the paper had been cut into strips, indicating wind-nature chakra. Usually, wind-nature chakra split the paper in half, but he had cut the Chakra Induction Paper into several strips. He realized that his talent for wind-nature chakra seemed to be exceptional.

The brothers Hiashi and Hizashi were being raised within the clan as the future heads of the Main House and Branch House, respectively. Shinichi was also a member of the Main House, but aside from giving him enough food to keep him alive, the Main House didn't pay him much attention. Only the head of the Main House would teach him from time to time, so Hyuga Shinichi made his own decisions about most things, including enrolling in the academy.

"Mm. As long as you've thought it through. You may not have much authority in the Main House, which means you can live a carefree life. But once you become a ninja, you'll one day have to fight an enemy to the death. Even as a member of the Main House, you could die on the battlefield..."

Hyuga Nimitsu left it at that, and Hyuga Shinichi understood what he meant. In the end, he had little standing in the clan. Even if he was a Byakugan prodigy, he was still just a genius who hadn't yet grown up. The clan would support and invest in him, but they wouldn't invest too much.

He might not even have a Branch House bodyguard. Even if he did, it would only be one, and that person wouldn't be very strong, because every faction in the clan had people of its own to raise. Shinichi was the only one left in his branch of the family.

Now that he had said he wanted to enroll, the clan members naturally wouldn't oppose him. On the contrary, they would support him.

The next day, at the entrance to the Konoha Ninja Academy.

"It's exactly like I remember! This is the first step toward growing up! I'm going to become the First of the Hyuga Clan!"

Hyuga Shinichi stood in the middle of the crowd, hands on his hips, chin raised as he looked up at the academy gates and shouted the kind of impassioned declaration a shonen protagonist would make. His strange behavior and young age drew everyone's attention. When they heard that such a little kid wanted to become Hokage, they burst out laughing.

Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi had also witnessed the scene through his crystal ball in the Hokage Office.

"So this is the Byakugan genius from the Hyuga Clan? Hahahaha! I didn't expect him to want to become Hokage at such a young age. A promising child indeed! I'll have to make sure my speech on the Will of Fire at the opening ceremony is especially good."

Hyuga Shinichi was only two, almost three, and normally wouldn't have been old enough to enroll. He had only been admitted as an exception because he had awakened the Byakugan so young. His enrollment application had been approved by Sarutobi Hiruzen and the head of the Hyuga Clan's Main House.

After the opening ceremony, Hyuga Shinichi followed the other students back to his classroom, exhausted. When he found out his seat was by the window at the back, his chuunibyou side couldn't help getting a little excited. After all, this was the king's homeland.

But after enduring Sarutobi Hiruzen's three-hour speech under the blazing sun, he slumped onto his desk, too tired to move, and gazed out the window.

"Hey! Nice to meet you, deskmate!"

Hearing someone greet him from beside him, Hyuga Shinichi lifted his head and turned to see a goofy grin right in front of his face. Startled, he jerked backward and nearly fell off his seat. Luckily, the other boy reacted quickly, grabbed him, and laughed.

"Hahahaha, sorry about that. You're really interesting. Hi, I'm Nawaki. My dream is to become Hokage! Haha!"

"Oh, it's fine. I'm Hyuga Shinichi."

"Hm? I remember you shouting at the school gate that you wanted to become Hokage."

Yes, the person talking to Hyuga Shinichi was Nawaki, the grandson of First Senju Hashirama. His carefree, somewhat dopey manner was a lot like Senju Hashirama's and the future protagonist, Uzumaki Naruto's. (Nawaki was born in August of Konoha's twenty-third year, making him two years older than Hyuga Shinichi.)

Nawaki's question left Shinichi a little embarrassed. He wasn't even sure whether he wanted to become Hokage. In that moment, he had just felt like he should shout an impassioned declaration like a protagonist.

But after enduring Sarutobi Hiruzen's three-hour speech on the Will of Fire, his enthusiasm had long since cooled. Now, hearing someone bring it up made Hyuga Shinichi feel a little awkward and embarrassed, and he didn't know how to answer.

Only when the homeroom teacher entered and told everyone to sit down did Hyuga Shinichi finally breathe a sigh of relief.
