(The protagonist is not a transmigrator but a reincarnator, effectively living a second life in this world. I do not wish to dwell too much on the protagonist's past life; perhaps his previous experiences will surface in later flashbacks.
The protagonist's past life was defined by parents who passed away early, leaving him with endless wealth. However, he did not squander it on debauchery; after graduating from university, he shut himself away like a shut-in.
He spent his days idling at home and rarely went out, so he essentially experienced nothing in his past life. Reincarnating into the world of Naruto, he possesses only the mindset of an adult.
Yet, because he has experienced so little, encountering these events for the first time in the Naruto world makes him act like an innocent child coming into contact with new things.
For instance, the first time he makes a friend, the first time he feels the love of family, and the first time he desires to live in this world without leaving any regrets.
Therefore, this book may lean towards an ensemble cast later on. After all, everyone around the protagonist is a living, breathing person; they are not NPCs and have lives of their own.
The author is writing a novel for the first time. If you find any issues or unreasonable points in the text, please feel free to comment; the author will read and respond to them.
The author is a loyal fan of Naruto, having gone through the anime and manga multiple times, and will ensure that the timeline and events remain accurate.
Although some of Kishimoto's timelines are indeed messy, the author will try his best to organize them using original plot points.
The goal is to write up to Boruto, as the plot involving the Otsutsuki is quite interesting. The early pacing will be slow, but everything is being laid out as foreshadowing. I hope everyone will continue to read; thank you all.
The author's outline is mostly complete, and I guarantee you will see a decent Naruto fanfiction.
The author has said all that needs to be said. Thank you all for reading, and the story begins now!)
Two figures stood in the center of the training ground at the Hyuga clan compound in Konoha.
"Byakugan! Wind Style: Vacuum Blast!"
The young boy with long black hair felt the veins around his eyes bulge as he looked forward. He turned his body slightly, his right hand cupped at his waist, gathering wind-attribute chakra in his palm. Once the chakra was compressed and concentrated into a single point, he thrust it forward with force.
"Nice one! Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm!"
The other, slightly older boy also thrust his palm forward, sending a vacuum wave to meet the attack head-on.
Boom!
The two vacuum waves collided and exploded between them, the wind whipping their hair back.
"Hahaha, how was that, brother Hiashi?"
"Shinichi, that Wind Style: Vacuum Blast of yours is impressive! The power is no joke!"
"Heh, I haven't even perfected this technique yet. I still can't fully concentrate the wind-attribute chakra into a single point; otherwise, the power would double."
At this moment, a small figure ran up from the group of onlookers.
"Shinichi, you can use the Byakugan before you're even three years old. I believe you'll master this technique soon too."
"Hahaha, you think so too, brother Hizashi? And you also think it's badass that I can use the Byakugan before I'm three, right?"
Hiashi and Hizashi exchanged a helpless smile. Their younger clansman was great in every way, except for his constant habit of showing off.
"Badass" and "showing off" were strange terms Hyuga Shinichi had picked up during their daily interactions. Thinking that a genius like Hyuga Shinichi would invent some odd vocabulary was normal enough, so they didn't think much of it.
In truth, Hyuga Shinichi was no ordinary person. He was a transmigrator—or more accurately, a reincarnator, having been reborn into this world.
What surprised Hyuga Shinichi was that he had reincarnated into the world of Naruto, carrying hazy memories of his past life, becoming a fetus still in his mother's womb.
His biological father was Hyuga Taiwa, and his mother was Hyuga Kaoru. Unfortunately, his father's old wounds flared up while his mother was pregnant, and he eventually passed away due to the worsening condition.
After struggling to give birth to Hyuga Shinichi, his mother passed away from complications. Regarding the cause of her difficult labor, Hyuga Shinichi had heard whispers within the clan; they said it was perhaps because she had been so grief-stricken after her husband's death, her health deteriorating day by day.
Finally, after giving birth to Hyuga Shinichi and bestowing upon him the name they had decided on during pregnancy—a name filled with all their love—she departed from this world.
And so, the name "Hyuga Shinichi" was born into the ninja world.
Usually, in a scenario where both parents die, an ordinary person would have a life worse than little Naruto's if left to their own devices, perhaps even unable to find expired food to eat. But fate favored him, making Hyuga Shinichi a member of the Hyuga clan, and a member of the Main House at that.
Hyuga Shinichi was born in September of Konoha Year 25, while the two older brothers were born in January of Konoha Year 22, three years his senior.
Now it was Konoha Year 28, and Hyuga Shinichi was nearly three years old.
"The three of you, come here."
A middle-aged man sitting on a chair outside the training ground beckoned to them. As the three approached, he spoke.
"Hiashi, you must continue to work hard. Activating the Byakugan requires constant training and discipline. Hizashi, the same goes for you. As a member of the Branch House, you cannot protect the Main House without strength..."
At this, the man fell silent for a moment, looked at Hyuga Shinichi, and continued.
"Shinichi, for you to activate the Byakugan at your age is nothing short of gifted. In the records of the Hyuga clan, there has never been anyone who opened their eyes this young. But don't be too proud; you still have much to learn. Keep working hard, all of you."
"Yes! Clan Head!" X3
The one speaking to the three was the current head of the Hyuga Main House, and the father of Hiashi and Hizashi, Hyuga Nimitsu.
In Hyuga Shinichi's view, the silence when the Clan Head mentioned Hizashi spoke volumes. Before Hyuga Shinichi was born, on the brothers' third birthday, Hizashi had been branded with the Caged Bird seal, becoming a member of the Branch House.
No father wants his child to sacrifice his life to protect another, but this was the method used to ensure the continuation of the Hyuga clan.
"By the way, Shinichi, do you want to enroll in the Ninja Academy?"
"Yes, Clan Head! I feel that my talent for wind-attribute chakra is particularly outstanding, and I want to enter the Ninja Academy to study and refine it."
Hyuga Shinichi had previously used chakra induction paper to test his affinity. When he channeled his chakra, the paper was sliced into strips, indicating wind-attribute chakra. Usually, wind-attribute chakra causes the paper to split in two, but he had shredded the paper into several thin strips, realizing his wind-attribute chakra seemed quite exceptional.
Hiashi and Hizashi were being groomed as the future heirs of the Main and Branch Houses, so they were naturally trained within the family. Although Hyuga Shinichi was a member of the Main House, aside from providing him with food to keep him from starving, the Main House didn't pay much attention to him. Only the Clan Head would occasionally discipline him, so Hyuga Shinichi basically made his own decisions, including this enrollment.
"Hmm, as long as you have thought it through. While you don't have much power in the Main House, you live a carefree life. But once you become a ninja, there will come a day when you must fight the enemy with your life on the line. Even as a member of the Main House, you could die on the battlefield..."
Hyuga Nimitsu stopped at that, and Hyuga Shinichi understood the implication perfectly. At the end of the day, his standing within the clan was too small. Even as a Byakugan genius, he was merely one who had yet to mature; the clan would invest in him, but not excessively.
He wouldn't even be assigned a branch house bodyguard, or if he were, it would only be one, and certainly not a strong one. The clan had multiple factions, each with their own people to nurture, and he was the last remaining member of his own lineage.
Now that he had declared his intent to enroll, the clansmen would naturally not oppose him; in fact, they would support him.
The next day, at the entrance of the Konoha Ninja Academy.
"It looks exactly like it did in my memories. This will be the first step of my growth! I am going to become the first Hokage from the Hyuga clan!"
Hyuga Shinichi stood in the center of the crowd, hands on his hips, head tilted back as he looked up at the school gate and shouted the kind of impassioned declaration a shonen protagonist would make. His strange behavior and young age drew the eyes of everyone around him, and upon hearing such a small child wanting to become Hokage, they burst into laughter.
Inside the Hokage's office, the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, observed the scene through his crystal ball.
"So this is the Byakugan genius of the Hyuga clan? Hahahaha, I didn't expect him to want to be Hokage at such a young age. He is a child worth teaching. It seems I shall have to give a proper speech on the Will of Fire during the opening ceremony later."
Hyuga Shinichi was only a little over two, nearly three years old—hardly the age for enrollment—but he had been admitted as an exception precisely because he had awakened his Byakugan so early. His application had even been confirmed by Sarutobi Hiruzen and the head of the Hyuga main house.
After the opening ceremony concluded, Hyuga Shinichi followed the other dispersing students to his classroom, exhausted. Upon discovering his seat was in the back row by the window, the chuunibyou-stricken Hyuga Shinichi felt a flicker of excitement; after all, it was the hometown of kings.
However, after being ravaged by Sarutobi Hiruzen's three-hour speech under the sun, he simply slumped powerlessly onto his desk, turning his head to look at the scenery outside the window.
"Yo! Hello, seatmate!"
Hearing the greeting from beside him, the slumped Hyuga Shinichi lifted his head and turned to see a goofy, smiling face thrust right in front of him. Startled, Hyuga Shinichi leaned back and nearly fell off his chair, but fortunately, the other boy was quick-witted, grabbing him and pulling him up with a laugh.
"Hahahaha, sorry about that! You really are interesting. Hi, my name is Nawaki, and my dream is to become Hokage! Haha!"
"Oh, it's fine. I'm Hyuga Shinichi."
"Hm? I remember you shouting that you wanted to become Hokage at the school gate earlier."
Indeed, the one speaking to Hyuga Shinichi was Nawaki, the grandson of the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama. His boisterous, dim-witted demeanor was very similar to Senju Hashirama and the future protagonist, Uzumaki Naruto. (Nawaki was born in August of the 23rd year of Konoha, two years older than Hyuga Shinichi.)
Nawaki's question left Shinichi feeling a bit sheepish. He wasn't even sure if he wanted to be Hokage himself; in that moment, he had simply felt that he needed to shout a passionate declaration like a protagonist.
But after enduring three hours of Sarutobi Hiruzen's speech on the Will of Fire, his enthusiasm had long since cooled. Hearing someone bring it up now left Hyuga Shinichi feeling a bit awkward and embarrassed, unsure of how to respond.
It wasn't until the homeroom teacher entered the classroom and told everyone to sit down that Hyuga Shinichi finally breathed a sigh of relief.
