As time passed, the phantom grew ever more real. At last, it let out a long cry like a whale's call, followed by the eruption of a powerful energy field that spread in all directions like raging ocean waves.
The Floating World Giant Beast was not native to Earth Star either. It too was a synthetic beast—only, a failed one.
Long ago, the Empire Research Institute had entertained a wild dream: through biological synthesis, they would create a life-form capable of endlessly accumulating all manner of power before ultimately unleashing a natural disaster.
Thus, out in the ocean, they used steel and flesh to construct a small island. The island could continually store the kinetic energy of flowing water, gather power, and ultimately stir up storms and tsunamis, even flooding the coasts.
Such Momentum was not insignificant, but it still fell far short of what the Empire had envisioned.
At the same time, its costs were far too immense. The Empire's technological tree had not yet been fully developed, so the project was abandoned outright.
By the time the intensity of the later wars rose and the Empire's technology had advanced, it had more options to choose from.
And so this failed life-form of natural disaster was left forgotten in the ocean, until the war ended and the age of evolution began.
Under the influence of evolutionary power, it began undergoing tremendous changes. Not only did it evolve toward its ideal form, it even became stronger than that ideal.
In its later stages, it evolved a formidable ability to adapt to the Void. It could roam through the sea of the Void, absorbing the Void's power to continuously strengthen itself.
The reason it still appeared on Earth Star was much like how certain large fish in the ocean would occasionally
