Then, in the brief span of that exchange, a man dressed strangely—or rather, bizarrely—came sprinting over.
Four large black characters hovered above his head: Carefree Windrider.
The name was certainly elegant, but his outfit consisted of iron boots paired with tight leather pants, a coarse cloth shirt on top, and a tiger-head hat on his head. It was truly hard to put into words.
As for Zhao Cheng's current appearance, he looked like an utterly ordinary Daoist priest. But in this game, anyone who could dress normally was already no ordinary player.
"This crappy game—monsters are way too hard to kill, and the drop rates are awful..."
Carefree Windrider complained without pause.
Saying so much to a stranger he had just met would undoubtedly have been strange in reality, but in a game, it was perfectly normal.
Even though this game allowed one to gain supernatural powers, many parts of this world still followed the logic of a game.
For instance, wild monsters respawned, and NPCs had fixed quests. Though those NPCs were highly intelligent, they were still bound by the game's own logical rules.
In reality, Carefree Windrider stared at the image on his monitor and thought to himself that his opportunity might have arrived.
Zhao Cheng's whole outfit clearly wasn't ordinary equipment. He was definitely a hardcore gaming expert.
As for whether the other party was an NPC, every NPC in this game had a name. There was no such thing as hiding one's ID. As everyone knew, hiding an ID was generally a privilege exclusive to players.
And if the gap between NPCs was too great, one could at least see a pair of question marks.
