That was also one of the fundamental reasons why the great nobles could keep such a firm grip on the Empire.
Whatever move the Empire made, they were always the first to know. By the time ordinary people learned of something, it was most likely already a done deal.
And with that disparity of information, the nobles could seize the initiative in every matter.
Yet at this moment, she would rather not have known what the Nebula Matrix actually was.
Take the great weapon of the previous era—nuclear weapons. They were indeed terrifying; a single one could destroy a city.
But to the strong, as long as they were not at the very center of the blast, they would not die at all. With a strong person's mobility, they could easily flee to a safe distance before a nuclear weapon landed and detonated.
Even a massive barrage of nuclear bombs could do no more than destroy the surface layer of the earth, blasting craters a few dozen meters deep. Low-yield ones might only make craters ten or twenty meters deep, while even a single high-yield one would struggle to exceed sixty meters.
A
