The urgent question instantly tightened the nerves of every recruit on the ship's deck.
To them, Zephyr was their strongest support.
However, with the pirate fleet relentlessly pursuing them from behind, being able to see other reinforcements would undoubtedly give them another boost of encouragement.
Yet, faced with that question, Zephyr's expression immediately darkened.
Seeing this, Uss, the Longarm Tribe member beside him, was the first to lose his composure and ask, "Instructor Zephyr, have we really not received any signals from other reinforcements?"
As soon as those words fell, an inexplicable gloom settled over the scene, as though an invisible hand
had tightly gripped their hearts.
Sensing the shift in the atmosphere around him, Zephyr sighed inwardly and said, "I just received word from Colonel Hina."
"She had originally received our distress signal and was coming to rendezvous with us."
"However, she just sent another message. While approaching us, she was intercepted by three pirates with bounties exceeding one hundred million. It seems this pirate attack was no accident."
"The hidden hand behind all this is plotting something major. If we wait for the next wave of reinforcements, we'll have to hold out for at least half a day."
At this point, Zephyr glanced back at the pirates relentlessly chasing them from behind, and the gravity on his face deepened.
"But can you hold out until then?"
As soon as those words fell, the faces of the Marine recruits present changed drastically.
They were recruits who had just come out of the training camp.
Once they graduated successfully, officer positions would be waiting for them.
However, just as Zephyr had said, they were rookies who had never been tempered by blood and fire, with absolutely zero real combat experience against pirates.
