Special Recruitment

When he arrived at school, Uchiha Matsuzaki was drawn to the banner hanging at the entrance.

It read in big letters: "Anbu Recruitment Exam."

"Anbu recruitment?"

"Could this be what the Fourth Hokage was talking about last night?"

Uchiha Matsuzaki stood at the school gate, rubbing his chin as he thought.

"Matsuzaki, you saw the banner too? I didn't expect them to start recruiting this year."

Yamamoto Takeshi watched Uchiha Matsuzaki standing there in a daze, then came over and spoke to him.

"Yamamoto? Why do you say 'this year'?"

Uchiha Matsuzaki looked at Yamamoto Takeshi.

"In the past, the Anbu never recruited. Only people with exceptional abilities were assigned to the Anbu by the Fourth Hokage."

"What the Anbu are doing this year really is baffling!"

Yamamoto Takeshi explained.

"I see."

"In that case, it makes sense. Konoha's strength really isn't much to speak of right now."

"If we don't train more people, Konoha won't be able to keep up with the other villages."

Uchiha Matsuzaki looked at the banner.

"There aren't many strong people in our year, but I think you have a good chance of getting into the Anbu!"

Yamamoto Takeshi said with a smile.

Uchiha Matsuzaki didn't reply, only smiled.

"Although they're calling it recruitment, I feel like there's something else going on."

Uchiha Matsuzaki thought to himself.

After standing there for a while, the two of them slowly made their way into the school and went to their classroom.

"Ever since you beat Chuanzang last time, he hasn't come to school for several days."

"That guy's such a coward, hiding at home to recover just to avoid me."

Uchiha Matsuzaki looked at Uchiha Kawazo's empty seat.

"Bah, he deserved it. I was glad you beat him that time. He'd been bullying you for so long."

Yamamoto Takeshi said fiercely.

Uchiha Matsuzaki smiled. He knew that if he kept acting like a weakling, trouble would keep coming. Only by showing others how strong he was could he make them fear him.

"All right, let's stop talking about him and get back to our seats. Class is about to start."

Uchiha Matsuzaki smiled, patted Yamamoto Takeshi on the shoulder, and spoke.

"Matsuzaki, you're here! So, did you see the banner?"

"I wonder if you'll sign up!"

Chestnut Snow smiled at Uchiha Matsuzaki when he sat down beside her and spoke.

"Who knows? But if I can get into the Anbu, it's worth a try."

Uchiha Matsuzaki said with a smile.

"I see. That sounds pretty good, actually. But I don't know what's going on this year. It's really strange that they're recruiting."

Chestnut Snow said in confusion.

Uchiha Matsuzaki also found it strange, but no one knew what the Fourth Hokage and the Anbu were planning.

Just then, the teacher walked in.

"Class, I'm sure you've seen the banner at the entrance. I'll explain what it's about."

"There are a few changes at our school this year. The groups were all formed the day before yesterday."

"The Anbu say that if one person in a group meets the requirements, the entire group will get into the Anbu."

When the teacher finished speaking, the whole class was stunned. They had never expected the recruitment to work this way.

Uchiha Matsuzaki was no exception. If he met the requirements, the other four people could get into the Anbu too.
