Two years later, April 15th, at the academy gates.
Zhang Yang, dressed in the light uniform of Martial Soul Hall Academy, nodded to the gatekeeper and strolled through the entrance.
Looking at the orderly and vibrant campus, Zhang Yang felt exceptionally relaxed.
Having been on break for two months, everything felt fresh to him upon his return to the academy.
Entering his dormitory, Zhang Yang flopped onto the sofa, looking completely relieved.
After traveling for several days, even though his physical condition remained optimal, mental exhaustion was inevitable.
Resting on the sofa for a moment, Zhang Yang struggled to stand up, muttering to himself, "No, I still have a very important matter to report to the Education Committee."
Despite saying this, his footsteps led him toward the stairs.
Returning to his bedroom, Zhang Yang collapsed onto his bed.
"Forget it, it's already been delayed for over a month, one more day won't hurt."
With that, Zhang Yang began to snore, falling into a deep sleep.
As for what this important matter was...
"What? You've been at level 40 for over a month?"
Teacher Dewey's jaw dropped in shock, as if he were about to eat someone.
Zhang Yang chuckled, "That's right."
Teacher Dewey gasped, rubbed his gums, and paced back and forth in the room.
"You broke through to level 40 last month, and you actually just stayed home for over a month? You were actually able to sit still?"
Teacher Dewey's pacing grew faster and faster.
"You returned to school yesterday, and you were actually able to rest in your dorm for a whole day? You were actually able to sleep?"
Finally, Teacher Dewey stopped in his tracks: "I'm going to report this to the Education Committee now, and then I'll come back to compile a list of spirit beasts for you. What direction do you want your fourth ring to develop in?"
"Still the area-of-effect type, I suppose. My martial soul still has sufficient means for single-target attacks."
Zhang Yang thought for a moment and said seriously: "My third spirit skill, if I have to be precise, should be considered a status-type skill. This time, I want a purely offensive spirit skill."
"Then that list from a few years ago should still be useful. I'll adjust it slightly and give it to you later. Alright, I'm heading to the Education Committee, you go back first."
Zhang Yang thanked him: "Then I'll leave it to you, Teacher Dewey."
Dewey did not delay; after seeing Zhang Yang off, he turned and headed straight for the Education Committee.
Upon hearing Dewey's purpose, the members of the Education Committee were also somewhat overwhelmed.
The annual opening ceremony was to be held in three days, and they were already busy with that; they hadn't expected Zhang Yang to give them such a huge surprise at this moment.
"It's always the busiest times that bring more work," one committee member sighed.
However, since the matter had already occurred, the committee members had no choice; the work had to be done.
A committee member said to Dewey: "Go and compile Zhang Yang's recent situation into a report; I need to take it to report to His Holiness the Pope."
Dewey acknowledged the order and withdrew.
The report was easy to prepare; he only needed to summarize the monthly grades and add Zhang Yang's requirements for his fourth spirit skill, and a qualified report was produced immediately.
Carrying this report, a committee member rushed to the Pope Palace without stopping.
After passing through layers of reporting, the committee member finally met the Pope.
Still in that same reception hall, Bibi Dong sat high on her throne to receive the committee member.
Upon learning the purpose of the visit, Pope Bibi Dong was uncharacteristically silent.
"...This child, does he have no bottlenecks in his cultivation?"
The committee member took the materials from his Soul Tool and said seriously: "Your Holiness, this is the information regarding Zhang Yang from my academy, compiled by his instructor Dewey. Please, Your Holiness, take a look."
A maid at the side immediately stepped forward and presented the documents to Bibi Dong.
Bibi Dong spent a long time reading this file.
Looking at the genius's profile, where even the ink on the paper seemed to shimmer with seven-colored golden light, Bibi Dong pondered for a long time before finally speaking.
"I am aware of this matter."
The committee member listened quietly, waiting for Bibi Dong's follow-up.
"You may go now. Return to the Pope Palace in three days."
"As you command, this subordinate takes his leave."
The committee member bowed respectfully, took three steps back, turned around, and was led away from the Pope Palace by a Holy Emperor Warrior.
"This Zhang Yang can no longer be kept in the dark; his growth rate will become an obstacle for Liena."
Having made up her mind, Bibi Dong flipped her left hand, and the materials concerning Zhang Yang were stored away into her Soul Tool.
Holding the Pope's scepter, Bibi Dong walked through half of the Pope Palace and finally stopped in front of a 30-meter-high domed building.
The Elder Hall, the largest building in the Pope Palace, also represented the most powerful force within the entire Martial Soul Hall.
"Greetings, Your Holiness the Pope." The squad of palace guards standing watch at the door saluted respectfully.
"Open the Space Gate." Bibi Dong commanded.
"As you command, Your Holiness."
After saluting once more, the guards rose to open the doors of the Elder Hall.
The doors parted from the center, revealing a vast hall upon entry.
The surrounding area was divided into three levels, each containing ten rooms for the elders to reside in.
Inside the hall, facing the entrance, stood a ten-meter-tall statue of a Six-Winged Angel crafted from pure gold.
Directly in front of the statue, a middle-aged man dressed in simple gray robes stood in silence.
Bibi Dong walked into the room, stopping about ten paces away from the man.
As the door closed, the man slowly turned around, his eyes meeting Bibi Dong's.
The man appeared to be in his thirties or forties, with a handsome face, a gentle expression, and a calm, composed temperament.
He was the Great Consecrated Elder of Martial Soul Hall, Qian Daoliu, one of the only three 99th-rank Limit Douluo in existence today.
"What is the matter?"
Qian Daoliu's voice was soft, his tone perfectly calm.
Bibi Dong flipped her left hand and flicked her wrist; the file flew toward Qian Daoliu like a cannonball.
"Snap."
Qian Daoliu raised his right hand and caught it with an understated movement.
"This is the detailed profile of a genius student from our Martial Soul Hall Academy. I am handing him over to you now."
"A genius? How much of a genius?"
Qian Daoliu asked indifferently.
Bibi Dong replied, "Not yet eleven years old, a 40th-rank Soul Elder."
"!"
Qian Daoliu's pupils constricted sharply.
Eleven years old, 40th rank?
As if she had no doubt that Qian Daoliu would refuse, Bibi Dong turned and left as soon as she finished speaking.
The door opened and closed again, and Qian Daoliu looked down at the file in his hand.
Suddenly, a crisp, childlike voice rang in the middle-aged man's ear: "What 40th-rank Soul Elder? Let this old man have a look."
Immediately following, a youth who looked to be around the same age as Zhang Yang suddenly poked his head out from under Qian Daoliu's arm.
The youth was only 1.75 meters tall with fair skin and long platinum-blonde hair scattered carelessly; his left eye was covered by ice and snow, and his left arm was encased in frost.
Just by standing there, he radiated a chill that made people shiver.
The Fifth Consecrated Elder of Martial Soul Hall, Guangling Douluo.
Seeing Guangling Douluo's curiosity, Qian Daoliu handed the file directly to him: "If you want to see it, then you shall be responsible for teaching him."
"Why? Great Consecrated Elder, you have so many old men at your disposal, yet you choose to bully this young lad of only eighty years? Forget it, I won't look. Take it back."
Guangling Douluo said, handing the file back to Qian Daoliu.
Just then, a clear, resonant voice suddenly rang out from the corner of the Elder Hall: "Guangling, show some respect."
Following this, a middle-aged man with sword-like brows and star-bright eyes walked out from a side room.
The man wore the blue-green robes of a Consecrated Elder and had short, deep blue hair. His smoky blue eyes were mesmerizing, and his features were strikingly handsome.
The Third Consecrated Elder of Martial Soul Hall, Qing Luan Douluo.
"Hmph."
The youth called Guangling pouted and huffed, folding his arms behind his head with an air of indifference.
