Copy Ninjutsu

The next morning, Uchiha Mika did not continue tutoring Uchiha Cheng, as she had to head to the hospital for work. She had originally intended to bring Uchiha Cheng along to the hospital so she could look after him, but to her surprise, Uchiha Cheng adamantly refused, insisting on going off to train by himself.

Mika had no choice but to leave him some pocket money for lunch. Before departing, however, she left behind a ninjutsu scroll, telling Uchiha Cheng to try practicing it on his own.

Once Uchiha Mika had left, Uchiha Cheng set out from home alone.

This time, he chose not to return to the woods from yesterday. Instead, he headed toward the Uchiha Clan training grounds.

He had just awakened the power of the Sharingan last night. The Sharingan possessed the abilities of insight, replication, and hypnosis, capable of copying taijutsu and non-bloodline limit ninjutsu.

The Uchiha training grounds were frequently used by others to practice ninjutsu, so he planned to go there and attempt to copy a few techniques.

The Uchiha Clan training grounds were situated right next to the clan compound, both located on the outskirts of Konoha. The training grounds were divided into several sections; one part was reserved for the daily training of the Police Force and was not open to the public, while the other part was where ordinary ninja practiced daily.

Although it was his first time going, he found the location of the training grounds with ease.

The training grounds were quite expansive; after all, as a prestigious family in Konoha, the Uchiha Clan would never have been allocated a cramped space, regardless of their wealth or status.

Perhaps because it was during working hours, there weren't many ninja at the training grounds—only four or five people. They were all young, practicing some common ninjutsu.

Uchiha Cheng sidled over to the side, took out the sunglasses he had picked up on the way, and secretly activated his Sharingan.

Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu, an offensive ninjutsu—not bad, copied.

Water Style: Water Wall, a defensive ninjutsu—not bad, copied that too.

Wind Release: Great Breakthrough—not bad, the power of Wind Release is quite strong, copied.

The posture for throwing kunai is decent, and the accuracy is quite high—not bad, copied that as well to practice later.

Those Uchiha clansmen, buried in their intense training, never thought to guard against a three or four-year-old child.

Having copied enough, Uchiha Cheng walked to the side and found a random patch of open ground. He prepared to practice the ninjutsu his mother had left for him.

He opened the ninjutsu scroll and began to read it carefully.

It was actually Earth Spear. Uchiha Cheng was somewhat surprised; he had a deep impression of this ninjutsu. In the original work from his past life, Kakuzu had used this technique to withstand the blast of explosive tags, making it a very rare defensive ninjutsu in Naruto.

Earth Spear could harden the skin for defense or offense. When both hands were hardened, the arms would turn black. It was somewhat similar to Armament Haki from One Piece, though it was countered by Lightning Release.

For him, defensive ninjutsu was vital; being a ninja was a profession with high attack but low defense. Defense was far more important than offense.

In terms of strength, Uchiha Madara was strong enough, yet without his Susanoo, he was stabbed to death by Senju Hashirama. In terms of status, Nawaki had status enough—a direct descendant of the First Naruto—yet he was blown to bits by explosive tags. Then there was Nagato, who had the protection of the Rinnegan and was of the Uzumaki Clan bloodline, yet he had his legs crippled by explosive tags and could never walk again.

If he could master this ninjutsu, at least when he eventually reached the battlefield, he wouldn't have to worry about being blown up by explosive tags or skewered by a sky full of kunai.

However, this was an Earth-style ninjutsu, and he wasn't certain if he possessed an Earth affinity. He had yet to test his chakra nature.

Still, he steeled his heart. Forget it, I'll just try learning it; it can't hurt. In the original series, the entire Allied Shinobi Forces could use Earth Release by the end, so why couldn't he?
