"Tsk, tsk, tsk. As expected of one of the Konoha Sannin. When you want to peek, you dig a hole; when you're done, you plug it up. The famous Konoha Sannin, tsk, tsk, tsk. The Third Hokage sure raised a fine student!"
Ye Ning had no intention of letting Jiraiya off the hook. She continued to mock and taunt him.
At those words, Jiraiya finally sensed something was off.
"Who are you?"
"Who I am doesn't matter. What matters is that you're one of the Sannin, and you're here spying on the villagers of Konoha."
Ye Ning shrugged, her expression exceptionally earnest. "Lord Jiraiya, I know you have no family, so you can't understand the pain of having the women in your household spied on. But I have a family. The shinobi of Konoha have families, and the villagers of Konoha have families too. Their family members are the ones you've been peeping at. Don't you feel ashamed? Or is your skin thicker than a city wall, so you just don't care about something like this?"
At that, the expressions of the Uchiha squad beside her immediately changed. One by one, they glared at Jiraiya.
Jiraiya might not be deranged enough to sneak into the Uchiha Clan Compound to spy on them, but if they put themselves in his victims' shoes and imagined the women in their own households going through this, they'd be ready to kill!
"..."
Jiraiya was momentarily speechless. He couldn't find a single thing to say in his defense.
This kid... What fiery rhetoric!
What did she mean, saying that he, Jiraiya, had no family?
Even if it was true, there was no need to say it so casually, was there?
Besides, Ye Ning had a point. He couldn't refute her at all.
If someone spied on Tsunade, he knew he wouldn't be able to stand it either.
"No wonder Tsunade doesn't like you, with you doing such lewd, despicable, and shameless things every day."
!?
Jiraiya was stunned.
Hey, that's going too far!
We're talking about the issue at hand. Why are you stabbing me in the heart?
Jiraiya was at a loss for words, but Ye Ning continued without pause:
"Lord Jiraiya, men will be men. It's only human nature, and we can all understand that. If you can't suppress the burning urges inside you, or if you're like a randy dog with nowhere to put your instincts, why not spend a little money? That amount would be a drop in the bucket for you, Lord Jiraiya, wouldn't it?"
Jiraiya weakly raised his hands and lifted them over his head in surrender.
"I was wrong, all right? I said I was wrong. Just stop talking."
Jiraiya covered his face in shame. The Toad Sage's legendary reputation had just been ruined!
"Wrong? Can just saying you're wrong make up for the women you've hurt? Besides, even if you're going to apologize, you shouldn't apologize to me. You should apologize to all the women you've spied on!"
After being berated by Ye Ning again and again, Jiraiya simply dropped onto the ground. "What else do you want?"
"Make an oath, Lord Jiraiya. Promise you won't spy on anyone again."
"All right, all right, I swear I won't spy on women bathing anymore. Is that enough?"
"That's not what I meant."
Ye Ning gave Jiraiya an amused look.
Did he think he could fool her with an oath like that, as if she were a child?
With a shameless man like Jiraiya, Ye Ning was sure that the moment he left, he'd forget his oath and go right back to spying.
At most, he'd find a different place.
"Lord Jiraiya, add one more condition. If you ever spy on anyone again, you'll be impotent for the rest of your life, yet surrounded by descendants. How about that?"
Impotent for life, yet surrounded by descendants?
Uchiha Fugaku's expression turned strange. He looked like he wanted to laugh but didn't dare, and his face turned bright red as he struggled to hold it in.
The other Uchiha members looked confused at first, but then they understood. They all held back mischievous smiles, apparently imagining something in their heads.
Jiraiya was dumbfounded.
That oath... was vicious!
When he looked up at Ye Ning again, a hint of fear appeared in his eyes.
That oath would be worse than killing him!
"Of course, Lord Jiraiya can refuse. But from today onward, I'm sure Konoha will be buzzing with tales of your glorious exploits. Like how you'd sneak into women's bathhouses as a child and get chased for blocks, or how you'd save up to buy books unfit for children... Or how you'd spy on women bathing?"
"But I'm sure a shameless man like you, Lord Jiraiya, wouldn't care about something like that. Am I right?"
Jiraiya took a deep breath and snapped, "Kid, you win!"
After Ye Ning had gone that far, Jiraiya had no choice but to comply, no matter how unwilling he was.
At the thought of what would happen if he broke his oath, Jiraiya shuddered.
"I, Jiraiya, swear that from this day forward, I'll never spy on women bathing or sneak a look at anyone else in the bath. Otherwise, I'll be impotent for the rest of my life... yet surrounded by descendants."
Jiraiya practically ground out the last few words through clenched teeth.
Ye Ning nodded in satisfaction, then turned to Uchiha Fugaku.
"You all heard Lord Jiraiya's oath, right? I'd like you all to bear witness today."
Jiraiya could no longer hear what Ye Ning was saying. He was utterly broken.
At the thought of never seeing all those beautiful sights again, his heart ached!
He had just returned from the rainy hellhole that was the Land of Rain. He'd been pent up for three years and had finally hoped to let off some steam.
And now he'd get to do it just once!
"Kid, who are you, anyway? You wouldn't tell me before, but surely you can tell me now!"
Jiraiya suddenly remembered something, and his expression grew serious.
He'd just realized there was a problem.
When Ye Ning had mentioned the Third Hokage earlier, she'd sounded almost disdainful.
He wasn't particularly respectful of some of the Third Hokage's actions and conduct either, but he still regarded him as his teacher.
This kid, though, clearly had no respect for him at all.
"Ye Ning, son of the Daimyo of the Land of Fire."
"You're Ye Ning?"
Before Jiraiya could react, Uchiha Fugaku cried out in surprise.
He hadn't forgotten that he'd promised the Third Hokage he would never have anything to do with Ye Ning!
What's more, the major clans had all heard about Danzo's situation.
They still didn't know exactly what had happened, but one thing was certain: Danzo's removal from office had to be connected to the twelve-year-old boy standing right in front of him!
In Uchiha Fugaku's mind, Ye Ning had long since been marked as the most dangerous sort of person—the kind no one should ever provoke!
Uchiha Fugaku suddenly regretted coming to see what was going on.
Wouldn't it have been better to simply take his squad home?
Now look at him. Somehow, he'd ended up crossing paths with Ye Ning!
