History

Tension between the Uchiha and the Hokage faction worsened after Shisui’s death. Fugaku suppressed calls for a coup, believing the clan lacked the numbers to withstand Konoha’s other clans despite its Sharingan users. The Great Elder and his radical faction continued to press for rebellion 2.

Naruto planted dreams of a future clan massacre in influential Uchiha, including Fugaku and the Great Elder. The radicals gained control, and the clan agreed to rebel. Naruto then arranged an attack that cost Daohuo his eyes; the resulting dispute brought Uchiha and Anbu forces into a standoff 9 10. Suspecting Itachi of siding with the Hokage, the clan seized his Mangekyo Sharingan and transplanted them into Daohuo, replacing Itachi’s eyes with a preserved Three-Tomoe pair 11 12 13.

The Great Elder’s faction plotted to release the Nine-Tails. Daohuo and Shui intervened at Naruto’s seal, and the ensuing attack led to the Third Hokage’s death and a battle between Root and the Uchiha. The Great Elder, Fugaku, and Shui were reported killed; the remaining clan members were placed under guard 14 15 16 17. With Qiuyu and Itachi representing the survivors, the clan accepted Konoha’s order to dissolve. Members without awakened Sharingan had their memories sealed and were relocated within Konoha; the remaining Uchiha were assigned to other squads 24 25.

Abilities & Skills

Sharingan

• The clan’s awakened eyes progress through One-, Two-, and Three-Tomoe forms. Few members awaken the Sharingan, and fewer still reach Three-Tomoe 2 43.
• Sharingan enhances the clan’s fighters: several Uchiha elite jōnin were considered stronger than ordinary elite jōnin 9.

Mangekyo Sharingan

• The Mangekyo grants distinct ocular techniques. Itachi’s known abilities include Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu 11 43.
• Its power does not guarantee control over the Nine-Tails: Daohuo’s Mangekyo genjutsu briefly confused it, but could not fully control it 16.

Relationships

• Hokage faction — Political opponents whose conflict with the clan escalated from surveillance and skirmishes to its dissolution 2 10 24.
• Danzo and Root — Fought the Uchiha after the Nine-Tails attack; Danzo sought to eliminate the clan, but Konoha’s other elders opposed immediate extermination 17 19.
• Naruto Uzumaki — Secretly intensified the clan’s internal and external conflicts, then proposed integrating its members into Konoha rather than wiping them out 9 10 22.
• Uchiha Ice — A rogue Uchiha who declared his intent to destroy the dispersed clan and targeted Sasuke 49 50.
