Straightening the long hair the gale had blown somewhat out of place, Gin had just entered the submarine from the bridge when he heard this piece of terrible news.
He adjusted the brim of his hat and stared silently at Vodka.
This was no longer a matter of whether it was laughable. It would have been bad enough for such leverage to fall into someone else's hands, but for it to fall into Kumeru's hands... He could already imagine that bastard's smug expression as he spun the story.
Vodka lowered his head. "My apologies. Binga and I made a mistake while handling it."
Gin shot him several icy glares before speaking. "There is no way the two of you would have grabbed someone just because she resembled Sherry. Tell me the details."
Capturing Kumeru while trying to capture Sherry was absurd, but if it happened to certain colleagues in the Organization, it would not exactly be surprising.
The issue was that Vodka could be considered one of the people in the Organization more familiar with Kumeru. Though he could not compare to Bourbon, who spent every day with him, Vodka disliked dealing with Kumeru due to his instinctive resistance toward the man.
With that aversion in mind, Gin had every reason to believe this was not some simple accident.
"Yes, we actually saw Sherry herself." Vodka raised his head again and immediately began describing the entire operation.
Their mistake had been caused by both coincidence and carelessness, but at the root of it all, Kumeru's appearance in one of the three rooms they were checking was undeniably a major reason for this farce.
At first glance, it was rather funny. Kumeru coming to
