"Really? Didn't feel that way." Tang Ze Zhao spun the thin handle of the butterfly knife in his hand, noncommittal. "So? Satisfied with your new equipment?"
"Very sharp. A good knife."
The sound of metal parts clinking came from the other end of the line. Tang Ze Zhao knew Irish was disassembling and reassembling parts of a gun.
Aside from not being skilled at sniping, his firearms expertise had stood the test of plenty of dirty work.
"Since you're satisfied with everything, pick up the pace. You know I'm not a very patient person."
"They won't see tomorrow's sunrise. Don't worry, Kumeru."
"Don't call me that."
"All right... I understand, BOSS."
Before hanging up, Irish chose a relatively neutral form of address that was less pointed, sounding irritated. Of course, it was hard to say whether he was deliberately trying to disgust Tang Ze Zhao.
Tang Ze Zhao lowered the phone from his ear and raised an eyebrow, but said nothing.
Even though Irish was an Organization assassin to begin with, making him clear such a long list in a single night was indeed a little inhumane. He could understand why his subordinate was resentful about overtime.
That didn't stop Tang Ze Zhao from righteously declaring after the call ended, "Hasn't he always wanted to pull Gin down from his position or replace him? I'm using him like Gin, so I'm fulfilling his wish. Why is he still unhappy?"
"Gin might not be an ordinary person. He underwent experiments," Akemi Miyano kindly reminded him.
