Looking somewhat listless, Hoshikawa Teru lazily smiled at Sonoko Suzuki, slipped smoothly into a blank-eyed standby mode, and trailed behind the two girls as they slowly headed toward Teitan High School.
Tangze watched the substitute head off in a daze, not especially sympathetically wishing him a restful sleep at school today. Then he lowered his head, shook out the newspaper in his hands, and organized his plans for the day over his coffee.
The cleanup over there could basically be left to Irish and the Phantom Thief Troupe now. Since he had decided to take part in the variety show himself, Tangze figured it was about time to make contact personally.
This variety show, called "Detective Koshien," had originally been a program fabricated by someone to carry out their revenge. Borrowing Nichitv's name, they had invited several high school detectives to an uninhabited island for a so-called challenge.
But now that Tangze had arrived, things had changed somewhat.
