Battle of the Port

The three giants pushed open the iron door and entered the secret chamber.

The lights in the chamber came on automatically. The entire room was square, with black tiles covering the ceiling and floor. There were no windows, no furniture, no clutter—only a one-meter-tall cast-iron cylinder standing in the center.

A basketball-sized crystal sphere floated above the cylinder. Inside the sphere was a tightly shut eye.

Sean Mead waved a hand, stirring a current of air that shut the iron door. Then he held out his palm toward the crystal sphere, signaling that Vinnie could begin.

As the three giants had discussed, Vinnie would be responsible for using the Eye of the Sky this time. Once they pinpointed the enemy's location, Sean Mead, as a Wind Mage, would be the fastest and possess air superiority, allowing him to lead Heaven's Punishment's Sovereigns to the battlefield.

Meanwhile, Channing Lu of the board would remain stationed at Heaven's Punishment's branch office, where he could also protect the blinded Vinnie.

Vinnie stepped forward and pressed her hand against the crystal sphere, storing this rule-type item in her Inventory before taking it out again to complete its binding.

Then she ran her hand across the crystal sphere's surface. The eye within abruptly opened. It had no pupil; within it lay only profound darkness.

In an instant, apart from Vinnie, its owner, Channing and Sean felt an intangible gaze upon them. It was like needles prickling their backs, making them restless and uneasy.

It gave them the illusion that every secret they possessed had been laid bare.

Vinnie pressed her left hand against the crystal sphere, her gaze fixed on the Void and unfocused. With her right hand, she wrote on a panel visible only to herself: Unjust Heaven!
