If You Look Again You're a Dog
A new day, 6:30 AM, the alarm on the digital watch rang.
Wang Wen, who had been staring at the ceiling in deep thought, was pulled back by the sound.
He raised his hand to turn off the alarm.
He got up and turned on the domestic water switch to prepare to wash his face and brush his teeth.
The water flow sputtered like a terminally ill patient for a short while before turning into a drip.
Finally, it fell silent.
Wang Wen saw that the reading on the water meter had run out.
There was no choice; water was definitely needed.
He gritted his teeth and swiped his card to buy a ton of domestic water, costing 10 Points.
He finally managed to wash up.
He stepped outside, and it was still very quiet.
When he arrived at the Academy track, he found that some people were already running laps.
Wang Wen nodded.
In this world, there was never a shortage of diligent people at any time.
He loosened his joints and jogged to warm up. Ten minutes later, he switched to interval training, and after another ten minutes, he was exhausted like a dead dog.
He braced his knees and gasped violently, sweat pouring down his face like rain.
He was so tired he wanted to curse.
His physique at this stage was annoyingly trashy.
With just this little bit of exercise, he felt like he was falling apart, and his calves even showed faint signs of cramping.
Had his twenty-years-younger self really never exercised?
Damn it!
Wasting such great youth!
Leaving his body idle during its most hungry years.
It was simply unforgivable!
Taking advantage of this surge of nameless anger, Wang Wen roared as he finished a set of strength training.
He then collapsed onto the track surface regardless of the state of his clothes, twitching like a stranded fish, not wanting to move a muscle.
The person who had been running laps earlier had left at some point.
Wang Wen was the only one left lying on the track.
After resting for a while, he checked the time on his digital watch, stood up, and walked around the edge of the field to stretch.
At 7:00 sharp, he returned to his room, soaked a towel to wipe his body twice, and then washed the towel clean.
His ears twitched slightly. He got dressed and stepped out, only to find the thin, small boy standing right outside, intending to knock.
The two went to the cafeteria for breakfast. Besides the regular meal, Wang Wen specifically grabbed two bottles of milk, one for each of them.
As the boy drank his milk happily, he asked curiously, "Did you really make money yesterday?"
Seeing Wang Wen nod, he continued, "How much did you make?"
Wang Wen held up one finger.
The boy muttered, "It can't be ten Points; two bottles of milk cost more than that. You made one hundred Points?? You can make that much in just half a day? Where is this job? I want to go too!"
He counted on his fingers, "One hundred a day, that's three thousand a month! My god! That's practically robbing people!"
Wang Wen pressed down his counting fingers and said seriously, "Not one hundred, one million. They already paid me a deposit of one hundred thousand, and the remaining nine hundred thousand should arrive in the next two days."
"Pfft!"
At a nearby table, a young man and woman who looked like close classmates suddenly sprayed their food.
A mouthful of porridge landed squarely on the face of the male student opposite her.
She apologized repeatedly, stood up to grab a tissue to help wipe him off, and in her haste, she noticed Wang Wen and the thin boy looking over. She "pfft-ed" again, spraying the male student in the face once more.
The girl covered her mouth, mortified.
She bowed and apologized chaotically before running away shyly, leaving the male student covered in leftovers and confusion.
On the way to the classroom.
The thin boy looked dejected.
Wang Wen asked him what was wrong.
The boy said, "If it were one hundred Points, I'd have the confidence to try it with you, but one million is out of the question. That's not a number I can touch."
Wang Wen looked at him with some surprise, "Do you really believe I made a million?"
The boy said dejectedly, "Why wouldn't I? You have no reason to lie to me."
"Good brother!" Wang Wen grabbed his shoulder, feeling happy inside.
As soon as the two entered the classroom, they were intercepted before they could even sit down.
Yu Zhi pointed at Wang Wen aggressively and turned to the Department Chair beside her, "Teacher, ask him yourself!"
The Department Chair was a middle-aged fat man wearing glasses. He gently adjusted his glasses and asked Wang Wen in a friendly tone, "I heard you entered the World Tower yesterday?"
"No." Wang Wen shook his head.
The Department Chair was stunned, looking back at Yu Zhi in confusion.
Yu Zhi said frantically, "Teacher, don't listen to his lies! I saw him enter the portal with my own eyes yesterday!"
The Department Chair looked at Wang Wen again.
Wang Wen realized, "Entering a portal doesn't necessarily mean entering the tower. I just went to the Grand Plaza for a stroll."
"You??" Yu Zhi opened her eyes wide, staring at him in disbelief.
"Alright." The Department Chair mediated with a kind smile, "Even if you didn't enter the tower, the Grand Plaza is crowded and full of all sorts of people. You should be careful when going there. Student Yu's concern is not unreasonable. Wang Wen, next time you go to a portal, at least report it to the Academy teachers first, understand?"
Wang Wen nodded in agreement and watched the round Department Chair waddle away.
Behind him, Yu Zhi said coldly, "Wang Wen, don't think that just because you fooled the teacher, you're fine. I can see your intentions clearly!"
Wang Wen turned around and asked her with amusement, "Then tell me, what are my intentions?"
"Heh." Yu Zhi sneered, "Don't think that by threatening me with death, I will compromise. You only make me more disgusted and nauseated!"
The image of the girl who couldn't hold back her laughter during breakfast flashed through Wang Wen's mind.
He suddenly understood how that girl felt at the time.
While his thoughts were flying a thousand miles away.
Yu Zhi was still persistently saying, "Wang Wen, I've said it before, it's impossible between us. Can you stop being so clingy and unreasonable?!"
The thin boy couldn't listen anymore. He knew very well that Wang Wen had gone to make money yesterday afternoon and it had nothing to do with romance. Seeing Yu Zhi still chattering away, he couldn't help but explain, "Yu Zhi, you've misunderstood. Wang Wen, he yesterday..."
"Shut up!" Yu Zhi roared fiercely at the boy, "I'm talking to Wang Wen here, what business is it of yours?"
Being misunderstood by a little girl was one thing. Having lived two lifetimes, this kind of thing was a joke; it was quite entertaining to watch like a post-meal show.
But when the thin boy was shouted into silence, shrinking his neck and not daring to make a sound.
Wang Wen was furious. He shifted half a step to block the boy.
"You're the one who should shut up." He stared at Yu Zhi expressionlessly, raised his hand to point outside the desk, signaling her to move aside and stop blocking his class.
Yu Zhi was furious, "What did you say? You dare use this attitude with..."
"Get lost." Wang Wen couldn't be bothered to listen to her babbling and tapped the desk, making a loud sound.
The students in the classroom were attracted by the commotion and cast their gazes over.
Yu Zhi gritted her teeth and nodded repeatedly, "Fine, Wang Wen, you'll regret this!"
After saying that, she turned and left, her heart filled with surging anger. She made up her mind that she would never say another word to Wang Wen in this life, not even a single syllable!
Damn Wang Wen!
Scum! Trash! Loser! Ant! Bad student!
If I look at you again in this life, I'm a dog!
Yu Zhi returned to her seat, still furious, not even bothering to respond to the inquiries of her friends beside her.
Ever since she walked out of that place, no one had ever dared to treat her like this!
Her appearance was her greatest confidence; with such a charming and beautiful face, no man could resist her.
Damn Wang Wen!
The more Yu Zhi thought about it, the angrier she got, but before she could think of a way to vent or retaliate.
She suddenly heard a voice from the classroom door, "Wang Wen? Is Wang Wen here? Come out for a second, I have something to ask."
