Background

In his previous life, Wang Wen’s parents died in the World Tower. He pursued their final wish of reaching first place in the world and uncovering the secret beyond the thousandth floor. His relentless climbing eventually made him the world’s number one Tower Climber. 13

His closest bond in that life was with Gu Jianbing, the First Consortium Intelligence Department Head. They began as antagonists: Gu despised Tower Climbers and assigned Wang Wen dangerous intelligence work, while Wang Wen accepted every task without complaint. Their constant arguments gradually became an unspoken familial relationship; Wang Wen secretly supplied Gu with rare World Tower treasures to prolong his life. 13

After Reincarnation, Wang Wen returned in a much younger and physically weaker body. He retained his five master-level foundational disciplines and knowledge of the Tower, but had to rebuild his physical strength and extraordinary power from the beginning. 10 196

He initially operated from The Academy, selling highly detailed Tower routes and mechanism solutions while concealing the full extent of his experience. His intelligence brought him into contact with Gu Jianbing again, and Wang Wen negotiated weekly meetings with him in exchange for further information. 9 14

Identity and Memory

Wang Wen’s memories contain gaps, most notably regarding the skinny boy who helped clear the 660th and 900th floors in his previous life. He can remember the boy’s importance but not his name or appearance. 432

The Main Brain later revealed that Wang Wen is not the “real” Wang Wen, but an incomplete consciousness entity. It refused to explain further. Wang Wen tested this by swearing an oath to teleport “Wang Wen” before him; only he appeared, confirming that the Oath Scepter’s rules recognize him as Wang Wen. 540

Appearance

Wang Wen is approximately 1.75 meters tall. Before improving his physique, he had a slight build rather than a muscular one. He is fair-skinned, clean-cut, and youthful-looking, with delicate features and a scholarly air. 113

  • Initially appears physically unremarkable despite his combat ability. 10 113
  • Often maintains an expressionless or calm demeanor under pressure. 11 147
  • His body and clothing can be reconstructed from energy after he reaches Five-Fold Enlightenment. 269

Personality

Wang Wen is controlled, blunt, and extremely difficult to intimidate. He negotiates with powerful organizations on equal terms, refuses to sell his life to any consortium, and treats information as leverage. 15 147

He is pragmatic about morality and routinely chooses efficiency over convention. He can be ruthless toward enemies, manipulators, and people he sees as obstacles, yet he has repeatedly protected his own team and shown unexpected kindness to strangers. 101 161 228

His strongest personal trait is persistence. Whether rebuilding his body after Reincarnation, starting over after being reset to zero, or confronting the Main Brain’s revelation about his identity, he continues moving forward rather than surrendering. 13 511 540

Abilities & Skills

Master-Level Disciplines

Wang Wen retained five master-level disciplines from his previous life: combat, scientific puzzle-solving, Mechanism Art, poison-making, and mental power. Once multiple disciplines broke the veil, they became extraordinary abilities more flexible than standard single-form skills. 196

  • Uses scientific puzzle-solving to identify Tower mechanisms and their solutions. 9 196
  • Combines Mechanism Art and poison-making to control monsters and battlefields. 97
  • Developed his combat techniques through intensive training despite his initially weak physique. 10 37
  • Can teach mechanism dismantling and optimized physical training to others. 31 196

Mental Power

Mental power is Wang Wen’s third awakened ability. It serves as both an offensive tool and a versatile means of manipulation, defense, and construction. 173

  • Creates transparent barriers capable of blocking attacks and debris. 152 226
  • Mimics mental power to dismantle mechanisms and forcibly clear Tower stages. 193
  • Produces constructs, including an energy-powered wheelchair. 263
  • Can be depleted heavily by prolonged defense, mechanism control, or high-output attacks. 255 259

Energy and Five-Fold Enlightenment

After achieving Five-Fold Enlightenment, Wang Wen’s internal forces merged into energy. He can convert energy into stamina, physical restoration, defenses, objects, and destructive attacks. 263 270

  • Recreates matter such as floors, furniture, clothing, and weapons from energy. 269 475
  • Annihilates non-living matter within an area by converting it into energy. 268
  • Uses energy to clear floors directly rather than fighting every enemy. 432
  • His recovery rate is limited by his physique and was initially far slower than his consumption. 287

Oath Scepter

The Oath Scepter is Wang Wen’s principal supreme treasure. It functions through an exchange: Wang Wen expends energy to impose a desired result through an oath. 407

  • Can teleport targets, enforce conditions, heal injuries, and alter the battlefield. 355 478 540
  • Its effects depend on available energy and the exact oath made. 407
  • Wang Wen used it to gather the world’s rulers into one imperial hall and demand their submission to his divine kingdom. 435
  • Tathagata later fused into the Scepter as its artifact spirit. 432

Divine Power

Wang Wen acquired divine power after clearing the 700th floor and established multiple worlds as sources to replenish it. Divine power gives him vastly greater energy reserves than ordinary internal energy. 399 407 478

  • Forms destructive Little Suns containing hundreds of energy units. 410 461
  • Supports large-scale oaths and prolonged suppression of powerful targets. 478
  • Can be converted into energy at a scale far exceeding his natural reserves. 407
