The news reached the First Consortium's Intelligence Department.
"Department Head," Tong Xiaolei reported. "Tiansheng Group has been attacked by an unknown force. The main building has collapsed, with at least a three-digit number of casualties."
The old man abruptly looked up and asked, "Where is Wang Wen?"
Tong Xiaolei swiped across her tablet twice and said, "He's still at the Cheng Family's dinner gathering. He hasn't left even once."
Hearing her answer, the old man frowned. "If it wasn't him, then who was it?"
"According to eyewitness reports, the attacker was a man in green wearing a mask." Tong Xiaolei lowered her hands and held the tablet behind her back. "He claimed to be from The Academy."
"Impossible." The old man shook his head. "Tiansheng's main building would have at least an elite team guarding it. Anyone capable of causing such a commotion would have to be at least on the five hundredth floor. The Academy has no one like that."
Tong Xiaolei asked curiously, "Then who do you think it was?"
The question seemed to give the old man a headache. He took off his glasses and rubbed his temples.
After a long while.
He said, "Wang Wen can be ruled out for now. His strength is barely enough to tie with Mo Ran; he couldn't possibly be a match for an elite team. Besides, he's been staying with the Cheng Family ever since leaving the tower. He wasn't at the scene."
"As for the rest..."
The old man thought for a moment, then instructed Tong Xiaolei, "Look into the elite teams of the other consortiums, especially those that have old grudges with Tiansheng. See whether they did something in secret."
"Dead or alive, I want him found!"
