"When we first begin cultivating the Dao, we are all influenced by matter, believing the world ought to be composed of tangible things.
Such as atoms, molecules, ions, or strands of primordial energy.
Though they cannot be seen or touched, they truly exist.
But once cultivation reaches a certain level and one begins to comprehend the Dao, one also comes to understand formless powers.
Such as the mind, divine sense, intent, and so on.
When mixed with one's own intent, they can produce inconceivable abilities. One can wield the power within oneself to shake heaven and earth, making it serve one's own use.
Now that I understand the world and understand myself, I realize that 'I' am the only one.
I think, therefore I am.
When I think, spiritual emotion ripples forth. When my spiritual emotion collides with that of others, it forms the radiance of spirituality."
Ling Qing paused, then continued, "When I perceive all radiance of spirituality and transform it into my own spiritual light—
I will be able to bring forth a world with a single thought, and extinguish a world with a single thought."
Tian Ying fell into thoughtful contemplation after hearing this. "In other words, Senior Brother believes that, in the end, cultivating the Dao means cultivating oneself.
Where there is self, there is the Dao."
Ling Qing shook his head. "The Dao has endured since antiquity and will forever remain; it does not shift because of things.
Yet if I wish to cultivate the Dao, there must be an 'I.' Only then can I see the true Dao, and only then can I have my own true Dao."
Tian Ying paused, then said, "Though I do not yet fully understand, I have found a direction.
A vague outline has taken shape in my heart.
