Lake of Life

The Lake of Life lies in the forest's deepest reaches and serves as the central domain of its strongest soul beasts. Its surroundings are filled with ancient trees, shimmering water, and an unusually rich vitality aura. 28 73

• Gu Yuena, the Silver Dragon King and Master of Soul Beasts, recuperates beneath the lake. 42 78
• Di Tian operates from the Lake of Life as the Beast God and a leading authority among the forest's soul beasts. 28 74

Relationship with Yu Mingxiao

• Yu Yuanzhen and Yu Mingxiao — Yu Mingxiao's first visit is guided by Yu Yuanzhen, who teaches him to identify spirit beasts and protects him during hunts. 6
• Yu Mingxiao — The forest becomes a recurring source of spirit rings, dragon-related opportunities, and contact with the soul beast leadership. 6 28 43 73
• Gu Yuena — She seeks cooperation with Yu Mingxiao because she believes that a human outside fate's trajectory may eventually protect the soul beast clan. 40 42
• Di Tian — He abducts Yu Mingxiao and Na'er on Gu Yuena's command, then later works with Yu Mingxiao under the negotiated arrangement. 41 43
• Dugu Bo — He accompanies Yu Mingxiao into the forest for the fifth-ring hunt, becomes separated after Di Tian's intervention, and is later located with the help of the King of Ten Thousand Demons. 41 46

Story Role / Major Visits

First Spirit Ring Hunt

Yu Yuanzhen brings Yu Mingxiao to the forest to find a light-attribute sub-dragon suitable for the Radiant Sacred Dragon martial soul. A Golden Earth Dragon is attracted by roasted Soft Bone Rabbit meat, captured by Yu Yuanzhen, and killed by Yu Mingxiao for its spirit ring. 6

While leaving, the pair explore a poisonous miasma containing medicinal herbs. Beneath the soil, they uncover the skeleton of a Radiant Sacred Dragon, along with a Dragon Core and a right-arm Spirit Bone. 7 8

Fourth Spirit Ring Hunt

Yu Mingxiao and Yu Yuanzhen search from the Mixed Zone toward the core-area boundary for a suitable target. Yu Mingxiao finds and kills a Yaoguang Dragon Deer, then absorbs its ten-thousand-year spirit ring and reaches level 43. 27 28

The Dragon-Slaying Blade's appearance during the battle alerts the entity beneath the Lake of Life. 28

Alliance with the Soul Beast Clan

At level 50, Yu Mingxiao enters the forest with Na'er and Dugu Bo to seek his fifth spirit ring. Di Tian abducts Yu Mingxiao and Na'er and brings them to Gu Yuena. 40 41

Gu Yuena offers the forest's assistance in obtaining five spirit rings in return for Yu Mingxiao's future protection of the soul beast clan after he becomes a god. Di Tian subsequently arranges for the Radiant Flying Dragon King to sacrifice itself for Yu Mingxiao. 42 43 44

Later Returns

Yu Mingxiao returns again during the following two years and receives the Sky Azure Bull Python's Hundred-Thousand-Year spirit ring through its voluntary sacrifice. 51

After reaching level 70, he and Bi Ji travel directly to the Lake of Life to seek a seventh-ring target. Di Tian offers the Red Flame Tiger King before an unidentified voice interrupts the selection. 73 74

Following the acquisition of his seventh soul ring, Gu Yuena chooses to leave the forest with Yu Mingxiao in search of a way to heal her injuries. Bi Ji and Na'er remain behind. 78 79

• Roasting meat in the outer perimeter can attract nearby spirit beasts, as demonstrated by the Golden Earth Dragon's arrival during Yu Mingxiao's first hunt. 6
• The Golden Earth Dragon is considered an exceptionally suitable match for a Radiant Sacred Dragon martial soul due to its diluted Radiant Dragon clan bloodline. 6
• The Star Dou Great Forest contains few remaining Hundred-Thousand-Year light-attribute dragon-type soul beasts by the time Yu Mingxiao seeks his later rings. 51
