Of course, this also meant he would have to deal with the Spirit Pagoda.
At the mention of the Spirit Pagoda, Le Zhengyue's eyes flickered faintly.
He could seize Huo Yuhao's opportunities and even imprison Ye Xishui, the Holy Spirit Cult's Grand Elder and a Limit Douluo.
It was easy to imagine how unorthodox his thinking was—or how little he cared about the consequences.
Since he needed the Spirit Pagoda, he might as well plunder or take control of the local branch.
At the thought, Le Zhengyue's eyes flickered once.
Taking control of the Spirit Pagoda wouldn't be difficult for the Yue Family. The reason they didn't do it was their wariness of the real Spirit Pagoda Headquarters. After all, several Limit Douluo were stationed there as well.
Under the circumstances, the Yue Family wasn't willing to offend them lightly.
And the Spirit Pagoda was equally wary of this enormous family, which had a Limit Douluo stationed among them and commanded the Southern Legion. It could even be said that the Pagoda didn't want to provoke them.
That was exactly why the local Pagoda Master was so deferential, treating even the Yue Family's direct descendants with such respect and personally coming out to welcome them.
But despite his deference, if the Yue Family truly tried to take control of the local Spirit Pagoda—or if another Federation legion tried to seize control of the Spirit Ascension Platform—the Spirit Pagoda would never agree.
So, since taking control of the Spirit Pagoda wasn't currently an option, the best approach was to find someone who could become the new Pagoda Master.
That would be somewhat difficult for Le Zhengyue, but he didn't mind. It was only an idea, after all. The actual implementation and problem-solving should be left to his grandfather, Yue Zhengen.
At that thought, Le Zhengyue couldn't sleep. Even though it was already evening, he went straight to find his grandfather.
To his surprise, as soon as he knocked on the study door and heard his grandfather say, "Come in," he opened it to find Yue Zhengen looking rather serious.
"You're just in time. The theoretical scholar from the First Continent has just arrived. Come with me to meet him in person."
"His theories might even be useful to you. After all, they're ancient theories from twenty thousand years ago."
Yue Zhengen looked very serious. Hearing his words, Le Zhengyue froze for a moment.
He didn't quite understand what his grandfather meant. But seeing the serious look on his face, his eyes flickered, and he asked, "Grandpa, can I ask which theoretical master you mean? What's his name? How old are the theories from the First Continent? Are you sure these so-called ancient theories can help me?"
There was skepticism in Le Zhengyue's voice. He didn't hide anything from his grandfather.
Compared to other people—or compared to Yue Zhengyu—he was entirely different.
His parents were busy, devoting themselves wholeheartedly to the affairs of the Southern Legion.
Ever since he was very young, Le Zhengyue had been raised under Yue Zhengen's care. Their relationship was the one that truly felt like that of a grandfather and grandson.
So Le Zhengyue never bothered to be polite to Yue Zhengen, nor did he show him the respect due a Limit Douluo and commander of the Southern Legion.
Hearing Le Zhengyue's words, Yue Zhengen didn't get angry. He simply said calmly, "I don't know his name. I only heard that his surname is Yu, and that he's a genius from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan on the First Continent."
"I've heard he's very famous on the First Continent and is known as a theoretical master. That's no exaggeration. I personally sent people to investigate the First Continent."
Yue Zhengen spoke earnestly. He was a little surprised that a Martial Soul master like this was willing to travel to the Third Continent, and even come to the Yue Family.
After all, the Martial Soul theories of the First Continent were in many ways no weaker than those of the Third Continent.
The First Continent was the true ancient era, when Soul Masters' Martial Souls and, more broadly, their combat strength had been the focus.
Soul Masters from that era were generally stronger than those on the Third Continent. It was only because they lacked Battle Armor that they couldn't compare with Soul Masters from the Third Continent.
But setting Battle Armor aside, the First Era had excelled in the study of ancient Martial Souls and many other fields.
However, the utter chaos of the Second Era had caused most research into ancient Martial Soul theories to vanish by the Third Era.
Most people now focused on Soul Guidance Technology and paid little attention to Martial Soul Theory.
But as Le Zhengyue listened to his grandfather, his mind went blank. Only one sentence came to mind, and he blurted it out without thinking:
"I raised a god?"
Hearing Le Zhengyue's words, Yue Zhengen looked at his grandson in confusion, not understanding what he meant.
But Le Zhengyue had already come back to himself. A strange look appeared in his eyes.
"Oh, Grandpa, you really have been fooled. If I'm not mistaken, the man's name is Yu Xiaogang. He is indeed from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, but he was probably driven out and is just a good-for-nothing."
"As for those so-called Ten Great Martial Soul Theories, they're completely useless."
Le Zhengyue shook his head as he spoke. Seeing the disdain in his grandson's eyes, Yue Zhengen furrowed his brows slightly.
If anyone else had said that, he would have reprimanded them. But this was his youngest grandson, so for the moment, he said nothing.
Especially since he'd heard about his youngest grandson's supposed ability to predict the future. That left him with a strange sense of trust in the boy's words.
"You mean this theoretical master is a fraud? But that doesn't seem right. He really does have a great deal of prestige on the First Continent."
Yue Zhengen furrowed his brows, but Le Zhengyue didn't care in the slightest. He simply stood up. "It doesn't matter. Why don't we go see for ourselves? We'll find out whether he's a mule or a horse once we put him through his paces."
Le Zhengyue spoke without a care and headed straight for the door.
Watching his grandson leave first, Yue Zhengen sighed and followed behind him.
At that moment, at the Yue Family's pier, a middle-aged man dressed in a black robe stepped off a ship. He sported a standard crew cut, and his eyes held a shrewd glint.
As he looked around, he saw two rows of young people standing before him. All twelve wore the Yue Family's uniform, their expressions solemn and formal.
Under the envious and curious gazes of those around him, the middle-aged man cleared his throat.
"As expected of a place that's developed for nearly twenty thousand years. The Third Continent is just as I imagined. Sure enough, Soul Guidance Technology became the focus twenty thousand years later."
"Ah, I proposed this theory back in my day, but no one believed me."
There was a note of melancholy in the middle-aged man's voice. Hearing his words, both the Yue Family members standing to either side and the onlookers nearby stared at him in shock.
They had already guessed that he came from the First Continent. They hadn't expected anyone to make a prediction twenty thousand years into the future—that Soul Guidance Technology would become the mainstream.
Hearing his words, however, Le Zhengyue's mouth twitched.
There had been no real Soul Guidance Technology twenty thousand years ago. The field hadn't even been formally established.
But Le Zhengyue couldn't be bothered to tear into him. Instead, he glanced sideways at his grandfather. Yue Zhengen was silent for a moment.
He had believed the man, so under ordinary circumstances, he wouldn't have thought anything of those words.
But having learned about the First Continent, he knew that at the beginning, its people had paid no attention to Soul Guidance Technology at all.
