Background / History
Tang San entered Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy as a six-year-old with Innate Full Soul Power and the publicly known Blue Silver Grass martial soul. Yu Xiaogang recognized that Blue Silver Grass alone should not possess Innate Full Soul Power and deduced that Tang San had a second martial soul. 6 7
Before Tang San completed his apprenticeship, Ye Tian intervened and exposed Yu Xiaogang as a Soul Grand Master unable to surpass level 29. Tang San briefly considered Ye Tian's offer to leave, but ultimately remained with Yu Xiaogang out of devotion to Tang Sect principles and the belief that a teacher must be honored for life. 6
After becoming Yu Xiaogang's disciple, Tang San voluntarily revealed his second martial soul, the Clear Sky Hammer. Yu Xiaogang instructed him not to attach any soul rings to it until he attained Title Douluo rank, then led him to obtain his first soul ring. 7 13
During the soul-ring hunt, Tang Hao secretly guarded Tang San. Tang San successfully absorbed a hundred-year soul ring while Yu Xiaogang was left unconscious following an encounter with a soul beast. 13
Personality
Tang San is intensely loyal to his chosen teacher. Even after learning of Yu Xiaogang's limited strength and hearing Ye Tian's warning, he refused to abandon his master because he regarded the master-disciple bond as permanent. 6
He is ambitious about cultivating and restoring the Tang Sect's glory in the Douluo Continent. He also places emotional importance on Xiao Wu, looking forward to returning to the academy and no longer falling behind her in cultivation. 7 14
