Background / History

Elysia joined Moth Chasing Fire through ordinary recruitment and trained with a bow. Her early training reports repeatedly read “Very Easy,” and she later held the second rank among the Flame-Chasers. During this period, she formed connections with Kevin, Eden, Mobius, and other members, while already displaying the pranks and self-confidence for which she became known. 418

She was instrumental in establishing the Flame-Chaser system, gathering people who would become the Thirteen Flame-Chasers. Rather than treating them as flawless heroes, she believed their choices, regrets, and individual identities were worth preserving. 249 427 428

Elysia was not originally a human who later became a Herrscher: she was born a Herrscher. Her title of the “13th Herrscher” was a deliberate falsehood used during her farewell; Eden explains that “thirteen” was a false number intended to convey Elysia’s truth to the people she loved. Elysia ultimately sacrificed herself to give future Herrschers an opportunity to reclaim their humanity. 497 500 506

Her memories became central to the Elysian Realm, a memory-world woven from the consciousnesses of the Thirteen Flame-Chasers. Within it, an Elysia memory core acts as Mei’s first guide, offering the Ego Signet and leading her toward the Realm’s deepest secrets. 249 250 264

Appearance

Elysia is a petite pink-haired woman whose presentation emphasizes beauty, fairy-tale imagery, and elfin traits. Her Herrscher form is portrayed as especially ornate and ethereal. 249 269 500 506

  • Pink hair. 247 368
  • Pointed, elf-like ears, described as a derivative effect of her condition. 269
  • Noticeably shorter than Mei. 408 409
  • In combat, uses a crystal bow before manifesting a long-handled staff. 506
  • Her Herrscher of Origin form is associated with flowing robes, long hair, and a starry ocean-like domain. 506

Personality

Elysia is openly playful, flirtatious, and mischievous. She enjoys calling herself beautiful and cute, teasing Mei, exposing embarrassing memories through the Realm’s systems, and provoking Mobius or other Flame-Chasers for amusement. 249 371 417 421

Behind this behavior, she is deeply attentive to others. She wants Mei to understand and eventually like the Flame-Chasers, watches over Raven after meeting her, and treats the Elysian Realm as a story preserving thirteen meaningful lives rather than merely a trial facility. 284 369 371 428

Her central belief is the “eternity of beauty”: the conviction that people’s identities, choices, and potential matter even when their era has failed. Though born a Herrscher, she chose to live as a human and hoped future Herrschers could do the same. 428 500 506
