Qin Fang knew the way to Spring Return Hall.
With his brows furrowed, he headed back to Spring Return Hall, guessing at what might have happened. But as soon as he saw the place, he froze... His master was walking out of the hall with his hands clasped behind his back and his brows tightly knit.
Qin Fang froze, then secretly let out a breath of relief...
It looked like nothing had happened.
"Master."
He hurried over.
His master, who had been deep in thought, came back to himself. He froze when he saw Qin Fang.
"What brings you here?"
Qin Fang immediately told him about his visit to Master's Wife.
"Master's Wife was worried something might have happened to you, so I came to check..."
His master paused, then a hint of warmth flashed in his eyes. He waved a hand gently. "I'm fine... We'll talk at home."
"Yes."
Qin Fang bowed in response and fell in behind his master.
They passed several notice boards along the way, each surrounded by people talking animatedly.
They were obviously discussing the new county magistrate taking office.
His master glanced toward the notice boards with a slight frown, but ultimately said nothing and returned home with Qin Fang.
Master's Wife opened the door. When she saw Qin Fang and Elder Wu return together, she visibly breathed a sigh of relief.
Then she came forward, sounding a little put out.
"You've been gone for two days. Couldn't you at least have sent word?"
Elder Wu shook his head. "So many people were hurt in such a major incident, and the hall was in chaos. How could I have found the time?"
"What exactly happened?" Master's Wife asked curiously.
"Why ask so many questions? Go make something to eat. We haven't even had breakfast."
