Background / History
Qin Fang entered True Martial County as a refugee. The original owner's memories taught him that martial arts required wealth, while his own weak body and refugee status made formal training difficult to obtain. He nevertheless resolved to pursue martial arts and defended himself from danger through quick reactions and pragmatism 4.
Initially armed with a dagger, Qin Fang chose hidden weapons as a means for a physically weak person to kill stronger opponents. Elder Wu supplied him with four throwing darts, and Qin Fang began training against a charcoal-marked board in his courtyard 14 15. Elder Wu later accepted him as a nominal disciple after witnessing his exceptional dart talent, then renovated his home and gradually treated him as a genuine member of the household 18 20 42.
Wang Long's pursuit forced Qin Fang into lethal conflict. He assassinated Wang Long and his associates with throwing darts, recovered his Golden Chain, and acquired silver and Blood-Qi Pills. Qin Fang confessed the killings to Elder Wu rather than attempting to hide them; Elder Wu was impressed by his composure but disturbed by his disciple's ruthlessness 30 35 39.
Under Elder Wu's instruction, Qin Fang learned the Savage Ox Qi Force Root Method and later received the Ox Demon Mountain-Opening Fist from Zhou Xing. Blood-Qi Pills, relentless practice, the Wild Ox Hundred Forgings body-tempering method, Giant Bee meat, and a Treasure Fish accelerated his cultivation far beyond Elder Wu's expectations 43 48 70 97 137.
After leaving True Martial County, Qin Fang aided Xu Meng during an ambush and earned the respect of the Fish Dragon Gang. His growing power made him a feared figure in Pingze Market, where he killed hostile gang members and looters with darts, iron nails, and close-quarters force 59 60 74 75.
At Transformation Force, Qin Fang confronted Chen Shanhe, master of the True Martial Fist Hall. Though initially outmatched by Chen Shanhe's superior predictive technique, Qin Fang later derived the Mortal Martial Canon, a Transformation Force-level martial principle that concealed the signs of his attacks. He used it to defeat and kill Chen Shanhe 139 141 142.
Qin Fang later entered Lanyang City and lodged at the Post House. His effortless victories over Huang Shun and Geng Ye established him as an unusually young and dangerous Transformation Force martial artist 146 148 154.
After learning that Elder Wu, Zhou Xing, and the others could no longer be found at their former residences, Qin Fang resolved to obtain one of the Twelve Seats in the Martial Examination, both to secure a path into the Heavenly Dipper Boundless Sect and to investigate their disappearance 150 151. He used the Post House challenge system to defeat and financially pressure several aristocratic candidates, gathering the resources needed for mental-cultivation medicine and his eventual Divine Gate breakthrough 158 161 162.
Qin Fang placed first in the Martial Examination with 590 points, becoming the chief seat among the new disciples. His Aperture-Linked Bones and exceptional cultivation drew the attention of multiple lineages, but he chose the Origin Return Lineage for its emphasis on a stable foundation and its philosophy of Guarded Simplicity and Return to Origin 169 171 173.
After entering the sect, Qin Fang became Hall Master Yue Guiyuan's personal disciple and received the courtesy name Linyuan. He became a celebrated lecturer at the Martial Tempering Hall, where his explanations of the Three Realms of Martial Dao helped numerous Inner Sect disciples overcome their barriers and enter the Divine Ability Realm 178 183 185.
Qin Fang later left the sect to revisit Old Ox Ridge, reunite with Xile, and investigate the Cold Cave. He discovered that the cave's extreme Yin force could refine his True Origin, but nearly died after being frozen unconscious for at least half a year. The ordeal nevertheless advanced him into the Origin Flow Realm and refined his True Origin into the Dark Nether Aspect 187 190 192 195.
Upon returning to the sect, Qin Fang continued teaching Mirror Flower, Water Moon to other disciples, accumulating more than seven hundred thousand contribution points. He later accepted Zhao Yuanling of the Golden Rainbow Sword Sect's challenge to defend the Heavenly Dipper Boundless Sect's reputation, decisively defeating the older True Condensation Realm swordsman while sparing his life 205 207 208 209.
Appearance
Qin Fang was initially a tall, thin young man with a handsome but exceptionally gaunt face. His calm expression and icy gaze could make him appear severe 24 32. Through continuous body tempering and cultivation, he has developed into a strikingly handsome, broad-shouldered young man with sharply defined musculature, a composed bearing, and an increasingly refined demeanor 130 174 208.
- Approximately 1.8 meters tall; his height is notably conspicuous among refugees 24.
- Initially physically weak and undernourished despite his aptitude with darts 18.
- Develops taut skin and membranes, solid flesh and bones, and thick tendons through cultivation 102.
- His body-tempering turns his skin bronze, thicker, and tougher 71.
- At Transformation Force, he projects an aura described as deep as an abyss and heavy as a mountain 141.
- By the time he enters the Heavenly Dipper Boundless Sect, his physique possesses sharply defined muscles and explosive strength despite his lean build 130.
- His Origin Return and Boundless Star-Dipper robes further emphasize his tall, straight build and reserved, noble presence 174 208.
Personality
Qin Fang is determined, analytical, and intensely self-directed. He plans training schedules around diminishing pill effects, evaluates the cost of cultivation, and repeatedly adjusts his methods to improve efficiency 50 65 71.
He is deeply grateful to Elder Wu and Elder Wu's wife, repaying their protection through respect, chores, gifts, and financial support. He also values Zhou Xing's guidance and Xu Meng's loyalty 19 42 102.
In conflict, Qin Fang is exceptionally calm and pragmatic. He kills witnesses and pursuers when he believes leaving them alive would endanger him or those close to him. This ruthlessness alarms Elder Wu, though Qin Fang's allies also observe that he is ordinarily gentle and unpretentious toward subordinates 30 39 74.
Qin Fang is highly strategic when confronting opponents who possess greater social status or institutional backing. At the Post House, he deliberately humiliated Shen Han and manipulated the challenge rules to pressure several aristocratic candidates into paying him to cancel repeated matches, using their concern for reputation to fund his cultivation 158 159 161 162.
Despite his willingness to use ruthless methods, Qin Fang does not seek violence or authority for their own sake. He declined Xu Meng's offer to become a gang leader, preferring to devote himself to martial cultivation, and later used his position in the Heavenly Dipper Boundless Sect to teach other disciples rather than hoard his insights 77 185.
His experience as a refugee has made him cautious, adaptable, and strongly attached to those who have treated him with genuine kindness. He values survival and long-term growth over reckless revenge, accepting Yue Guiyuan's advice to avoid confronting powerful enemies until he possesses sufficient strength 187 202.
Abilities & Skills

- Allows him to resume skills without stiffness even after long interruptions in practice 112.
- Does not remove the need for physical training, resources, or combat experience.

- Reached Great Success in darts after integrating Root Method force with his throwing technique 52.

- At Transformation Force, his projectiles remain potent against Bright Force and Dark Force opponents but are less effective against masters protected by Transformation Force 135 143.
- Employs Poison Stinger needles made from exotic materials and coated with Giant Bee venom; Chen Shanhe could deflect them with Transformation Force, but still recognized their danger 135 138.
- At higher cultivation, even ordinary stones and gravel become lethal projectiles against Mortal Body Realm martial artists 143.
Savage Ox Qi Force / Wild Ox Qi Force Stance
A low-grade Root Method taught by Elder Wu, built around stance work, breathing, blood-qi, and integrated force.
- Forms the foundation of Qin Fang's Bright Force cultivation 43 68.

- Requires extensive stamina and medicinal support during early cultivation 46.
- Its principles continue to inform Qin Fang's later force generation.
Wild Ox Hundred Forgings
A body-tempering training method provided through Zhou Xing and Elder Wu.
- Includes hard-impact strikes, weighted squats, sand abrasion, and medicinal baths 70.
- Toughens Qin Fang's skin, flesh, bones, and tendons 71.

Spirit Snake Listening to Waves Stance
A high-grade Root Method Qin Fang develops after progressing beyond the Wild Ox Qi Force Stance.
- Uses the image and perception of a spirit snake to sense movement, refine internal force, and improve his control over water-like force 112 133.
- Reaches Consummation before Qin Fang's Transformation Force breakthrough, allowing him to comprehend the Intent Stance 133.
- Lets him visualize himself as a snake to accurately strike distant targets, including the Treasure Fish in Five-Finger Marshland 134.
- Its insights into stillness and explosive movement contribute to his understanding of “Thunder Hidden in Cotton” and later Transformation Force principles 130.
Ox Demon Mountain-Opening Fist
A low-grade fist technique taught by Zhou Xing.
- Uses the principle that the spine is the bow and the limbs are the arrows 49.
- Became Qin Fang's primary close-quarters technique during Bright Force cultivation.
- Its original version is ultimately insufficient against an experienced Transformation Force master such as Chen Shanhe 138.
- Serves as the foundation from which Qin Fang later develops the Mortal Martial Canon 140 141.

Mortal Martial Canon
A martial principle Qin Fang derives by reworking his previous Leaf Techniques for Transformation Force combat.
- Conceals the signs of an attack within subsequent movements rather than making attacks completely unreadable 141.
- Allows his second and later attacks in a sequence to evade an opponent's predictive perception 141.
- Lets Qin Fang fully exploit his superior physique, strength, and speed against Chen Shanhe 141.
- Is not restricted to a single weapon or body part and is described as addressing the root of Leaf Techniques within the Three Mortal Martial Realms 141.
- Qin Fang later lectures on the Three Realms of Martial Dao and the principles underlying the canon, helping many Transformation Force disciples overcome their barriers 185.
Mysterious Underworld Realm-Breaking Awl
A visualization method Qin Fang uses to cultivate mental strength, divine sense, and the Divine Gate.
- Its visualization condenses thought from intangible mental power into increasingly solid forms, progressing from Thought Sand to Thought Iron and ultimately an iron awl 152 163.
- Grants Qin Fang divine sense and limited inner sight, allowing him to perceive objects through solid obstructions and observe the condition of his own body 152 153.
- Requires immense mental strength and can cause unconsciousness or worse if overused 153.
- Its Perfection allows Qin Fang to break the Divine Gate and enter the Divine Ability Realm 163 164.
Mysterious Dark Return-to-Void True Water Canon
A True Origin Root Method associated with the Heavenly Martial Lineage that Qin Fang cultivates despite joining Origin Return.
- Requires the Mysterious Underworld Realm-Breaking Awl as a prerequisite 176.
- Forms the basis of Qin Fang's True Origin cultivation after he enters the Divine Ability Realm 163 164.
- Reaches Minor Accomplishment and condenses a True Seed, causing his True Origin to develop a freezing Mysterious Dark quality 185.
- Its second layer supports Qin Fang's Origin Flow Realm cultivation and is steadily advanced through both normal meditation and the Cold Cave's extreme Yin force 192 199.
- Exposure to the Cold Cave transforms its Blackwater nature into the more powerful Dark Nether Aspect 195.
Mirror Flower, Water Moon
A True Origin movement-type Leaf Technique.
- Allows Qin Fang to float and eventually achieve true flight 176 177 182.
- Uses airflow perception and subtle True Origin transformations to execute abrupt turns, glides, and evasions that leave afterimages 208.
- Qin Fang taught the technique extensively within the Heavenly Dipper Boundless Sect, greatly improving many disciples' mobility and earning substantial contribution points 205.
- Reaches Perfection alongside Qin Fang's other Leaf Techniques 210.
Ninefold Abyssal Water Armor
A defensive True Origin Leaf Technique that forms layered water armor beneath and around Qin Fang's skin.
- Its defensive structures provide resistance, cushioning, and force dissipation rather than relying on brute hardness alone 182 183.
- At Minor Accomplishment, it can prevent ordinary same-realm attacks from injuring Qin Fang unless they employ specialized offensive techniques 183.
- Its layers can be shattered by sufficiently powerful attacks but can be restored through Qin Fang's True Origin 201 208.
