Background / History

Jiang Li transmigrated to the Douluo Continent 100,000 years before the story. After awakening a Sign-in System, he accumulated rewards through daily sign-ins and gradually became powerful enough to stand at the continent’s peak. 1

He built a courtyard directly above an Abyssal fissure in the Star Dou Forest and spent 100,000 years suppressing the rift. Beneath the courtyard, an army of spirit beasts resurrected and strengthened by him fights Abyssal creatures continuously, preventing the Abyssal aura from reaching the continent. 1

Jiang Li married the Soft Bone Charm Rabbit Xiao Rou. Unaware that she had left behind their daughter before transforming and recultivating, he only learns from Er Ming that Xiao Wu is his child when she is endangered in Martial Soul City. His rage at Tang San’s scheme nearly overturns the Abyss, but the newly unlocked Offspring Cultivation Module prevents him from rescuing Xiao Wu personally. 3

Instead, Jiang Li reinforces Er Ming and sends him to bring Xiao Wu home. After her return to the Star Dou Forest, Jiang Li reveals himself as her father. He later uses the Heaven-Peering Turtle Shell to witness Xiao Rou’s death at the hands of a human soul master and begins pursuing vengeance against Bibi Dong while supporting Xiao Wu’s wish to avenge her mother herself. 20 21 22

Jiang Li appears to be a young man of about twenty despite having lived for 100,000 years. His detached bearing and calm gaze give him the air of a reclusive scholar who has witnessed the rise and fall of the world. 4 20

Personality

Jiang Li is habitually indifferent, lazy, and difficult to impress. After a century of millennia of sign-ins, even rare soul bones and treasures barely interest him; he casually treats powerful spirit beasts as additional soldiers for the Abyss war. 1

His emotional restraint breaks when Xiao Wu is involved. Learning that she was manipulated into Martial Soul City drives him into a violent rage, while their reunion gradually restores the warmth and concern eroded by his long war against the Abyss. 3 21 23

Although overwhelmingly confident in his own strength, Jiang Li respects Xiao Wu’s desire to take vengeance personally. Rather than kill Bibi Dong himself after his first strike fails, he equips and cultivates Xiao Wu so she can pursue her own revenge. 22 23

Guardian of the Abyss

Jiang Li is introduced as the secluded guardian of the Abyssal fissure, casually resurrecting a Death Spider Emperor and sending it into his underground army. 1

Xiao Wu’s Rescue

After learning Xiao Wu is his daughter, Jiang Li cannot intervene directly because of the Offspring Cultivation Module’s conditions. He instead turns Er Ming into a force capable of confronting Martial Soul Hall and sends him to rescue her. 3 4 5

Father-Daughter Reunion
