Background / History
Martial Soul Hall and past trauma
Bibi Dong trained in Martial Soul Hall's harsh combat grounds and ventured into Death Canyon. As a Twin Martial Souls user, she received especially demanding training, including fighting multiple opponents 3.
Her first love was Yu Xiaogang. During their relationship, she disclosed restricted Martial Soul Hall knowledge to him, later recognizing that he repeatedly sought information while offering little in return. Qian Xunji, her teacher, sexually assaulted her and forced their separation; Qian Renxue was born from that assault. These experiences drove Bibi Dong's hatred of Qian Xunji and the Angel Clan 6 19. She also had siblings, but was the only one who survived 24.
Slaughter City
Bibi Dong entered Slaughter City seeking a domain, divine inheritance, and the strength to take revenge. She first met Li Pu after winning a Hell Slaughter Arena match. Shortly afterward, she killed Ghost Blade King and the fallen ones who attempted to assault her, establishing herself as a dangerous newcomer 2 3.
Li Pu taught her to shoot spider silk from her wrists and prevented her from drinking Yellow Springs Dew. To resist the city's influence, they practiced chess, calligraphy, painting, music, and other calming activities after their victories. Their partnership developed into friendship and affection, while his criticism prompted her to reassess her idealized memories of Yu Xiaogang 3 4 5 6.
After completing one hundred victories, she refused the King of Slaughter's offer to become a guest elder and entered the Hell Road with Li Pu. Divine interference caused her to lose control temporarily, leaving her distressed when she recovered. They nevertheless completed the trial, with Bibi Dong carrying Li Pu across the final gap by crawling along the cave ceiling 9 12 13 16.
Return to Martial Soul Hall
Bibi Dong invited Li Pu to return with her, promising that they could be together once she controlled Martial Soul Hall. In front of Qian Xunji, she concealed her hatred behind an obedient disciple's demeanor and repeatedly protected Li Pu from confrontation 16 17 18 26.
The elders fabricated a deceased twin sister, Bibi Xi, as Qian Renxue's biological mother. Bibi Dong and Li Pu knowingly accepted the cover story, turning her public relationship with her daughter into an aunt–niece relationship. Although her manner remained harsh, Qian Renxue's acceptance of the story exposed Bibi Dong's lingering maternal attachment 24.
Revenge and accession
When Qian Xunji returned critically injured and Li Pu was reported dead, Bibi Dong's desire for revenge intensified. The Rakshasa God encouraged her to kill Qian Xunji and devour his soul, while Chrysanthemum Douluo assured her that Li Pu was attempting resurrection 50.
Pretending to offer treatment, she took Qian Xunji into the same secret chamber associated with her abuse. There she tortured and killed him, using his Angel martial soul in the transformation that produced her Fallen Angel. Qian Daoliu confronted her but ultimately refrained from attacking 51 52.
Bibi Dong then demanded the Pope's position. Qian Daoliu agreed on the condition that she not harm Martial Soul Hall, and accepted her proposal to appoint a commoner Saintess to broaden its support. Despite her earlier desire to destroy the organization, she instead strengthened it through extensive reforms 52 55 56.
Reunion and later campaigns
After learning of Li Pu's resurrection, Bibi Dong traveled to the Heaven Dou Empire, furious that he had not contacted her and was living under an identity arranged by Qian Renxue. Rivalry over him complicated their mother–daughter relationship, but the three continued cooperating on cultivation, infiltration, and measures against Tang San 70 72 73 74.
Li Pu later gave her information about the future and a script identifying key events. She took charge of the Spirit Master Tournament with the intention of changing its course. During this period, she considered abandoning her present body and memories for a new beginning; she later withheld physical affection until completing her seventh trial, “Born from Death,” and reshaping her body 204 205 241.
As a Limit Douluo, she helped mobilize the campaign against the Clear Sky Sect while Tang San was in Slaughter City. She subsequently led the attack on the Zhu family estate, killing its core power-holders while sparing collateral relatives, servants, and staff under Li Pu's instructions. Later, she questioned his decision to release Tang San while he and his companions still possessed divine inheritances or trials 284 288 309.
Appearance
- Early attire: A form-fitting black gown and high heels, paired with an elegant, noble bearing that stands out sharply in Slaughter City 2 9.
- Eyes: Purple-black 264 284.
- Papal attire: A purple-black Pope's robe 284 309.
- Spider possession: Eight dark, blade-like spider legs emerge from her back 2 3.
- Death Martial Soul Avatar: Purple-black armor and a facial carapace cover her upper body; four smaller eyes appear below her eyes, while a large rear sphere bears eight claws dripping foul-smelling liquid 25.
- Disguise: Wears a mask when fighting Tang Rat with her Fallen Angel martial soul 231 232.
Personality
Bibi Dong combines elegance with extreme ruthlessness. In Slaughter City, she becomes increasingly cold and bloodthirsty, yet deliberately avoids devouring defeated soul masters because she recognizes the danger of losing herself to that shortcut 4 6. Her revenge is patient rather than impulsive: she acts obediently toward Qian Xunji while waiting for an opportunity to kill him 18 19 51.
She is receptive to useful advice and capable of painful self-reflection. Li Pu's criticism initially enrages her, but eventually leads her to recognize her mistakes concerning Yu Xiaogang and apologize. Her administrative reforms likewise demonstrate that she can redirect her ambitions toward building rather than merely destroying 5 6 55 56.
Her affection for Li Pu is mixed with jealousy, insecurity, and fear that her past makes her unworthy of him. Toward Qian Renxue, she often hides attachment behind rejection or harsh speech, even while explicitly acknowledging that the child remains her daughter 16 24 51 70 205. She is also competitive and willing to reconsider an opponent: Tang San's manipulation of Xiao Wu's sacrifice shocks her into admitting that she underestimated his ruthlessness 204 264.
