Coincidence
"Ek, Glass, greetings to Lord Ailin."
Ek had not come alone this time. Glass had accompanied him to visit Ailin. After learning of Ailin's strength, he simply could not remain indifferent. This might be his closest chance to come into contact with an Asura Expert.
However, faced with Ailin, who possessed the strength of an Asura, Ek naturally did not dare act as casually as before. He appeared far more restrained.
Ailin said nothing about the change in Ek's attitude. He had seen this sort of situation too many times. Back when he had become a Saint Domain expert on the Brinia Plane, he had already grown accustomed to it.
"Did you come to find me because you still want to earn Nether Stones with me?"
Looking at Ek, Ailin spoke with a smile in his voice, teasing him.
At the mention of earning Nether Stones, Ek looked somewhat helpless. He bowed deeply. "You jest, my lord. Ek was presumptuous before. I beg your forgiveness."
Thinking about it now, how could an Asura-level expert possibly lack Nether Stones? Asking him to help place bets and earn Nether Stones had likely only been a small test of his judgment.
Yet he had taken it seriously. At the time, he had not thought much of it, merely helping Lord Ailin earn fifty thousand Nether Stones. Later, he had even doubted Lord Ailin's strength.
Thinking back on it now, he truly regretted it.
"Haha, what crime have you committed? There's no need to be nervous."
Although Ailin did not know Ek's precise thoughts, he could roughly guess why he was acting this way.
Seeing that Ailin did not seem inclined to blame them for what had happened before, Ek and Glass finally relaxed slightly.
Ek and Glass exchanged a glance. Then, gritting their teeth, Ek took out a Space Ring and spoke with utmost seriousness. "My lord, there are one million Nether Stones in here. Please accept them."
"Hmm?"
Ailin raised an eyebrow slightly. "A million Nether Stones?"
He had obtained Bensgodo's Space Ring and no longer lacked Nether Stones, so he naturally did not care much about a million of them. Even when he had lacked Nether Stones before, he had not regarded a million as particularly significant.
Of course, for most God-level beings, one million Nether Stones was absolutely no small sum.
Ek let out a soft breath before explaining seriously, "Because of Ek, my lord was unable to obtain Nether Stones from the wagers before. That was Ek's mistake. Naturally, Ek should bear the loss. My lord's earnings should not be affected."
This was the simplest method he and Glass had thought of to maintain their relationship with Ailin, an Asura Expert: voluntarily making up for the "losses."
Though the two did not explain it in detail, Ailin understood. This fellow was taking out his own Nether Stones to compensate him?
"Hahaha, you're quite an interesting fellow."
Ailin laughed.
Hearing Ailin's laughter, Ek and Glass did not dare say anything.
"Fine, keep the Nether Stones for yourselves."
After smiling, Ailin did not accept their Nether Stones. "But go handle something for me."
When he heard Ailin refuse, Ek had initially wanted to insist. But upon hearing Ailin's next words, he swallowed what he had been about to say and hurriedly replied, "Please give your orders, my lord."
The reason he had offered the Nether Stones was to maintain even this faint connection to Ailin as much as possible. Even if they could merely speak to him, that would be enough for Ek. Now that Lord Ailin wanted them to do something for him, it was far, far better than offering Nether Stones.
Rather than assigning the task directly, Ailin asked, "How long have you two been in Blood Nether City? How much do you know about it?"
"Reporting to you, my lord, we have lived in Blood Nether City for over a trillion years. We have dealt with nearly all the major clans and powers within the city."
Ek did not conceal anything and answered directly.
A trillion years was an incredibly long time. At least, to Ailin right now, it was an impossibly distant span. Yet in the Divine Planes, there were simply too many God-level beings who had lived for a trillion years.
After all, a trillion years was roughly enough time to fully exhaust the talent of a God-level Life.
Compared to the memories of Ailin's previous life, it was roughly equivalent to saying that a trillion years marked the end of a person's period of growth in ability.
"You two weren't born in Blood Nether City?"
Ailin asked casually.
He had merely noticed that Ek had used the word "lived" rather than "born," so he asked an extra question.
"That's right. Glass and I actually come from a Material Plane called Okarun."
Ek answered directly. "About a trillion years ago, after Glass and I became Saint Domain experts on the Okarun Plane, we came to the Netherworld. At the time, we joined a tribe. Later, that tribe encountered enemies and was wiped out. Glass and I were fortunate enough to survive, and we even found a Space Ring hidden by the tribal chief, gaining quite a bit of wealth. Only then did we settle in Blood Nether City and cultivate here ever since."
"The Okarun Material Plane?"
Upon suddenly hearing that name, Ailin froze for a moment. A trace of surprise flashed through his eyes. "You're from the Okarun Material Plane?"
There were as many Material Planes as grains of sand in the Ganges, but because of his memories of the original work, Ailin knew a little about the Okarun Material Plane. He had not expected Ek and Glass to come from that plane.
"My lord knows the Okarun Plane?"
Noticing Ailin's reaction, Ek was somewhat puzzled.
Ailin felt that this truly was quite a "coincidence," but he did not say much. After all, it was merely the place where the Red Diamond would be fought over in the future, and there was nothing remarkable about it now.
Still, he paid more attention to the matter. If he were not an Overgod, then even if he reached the Paragon level, he might not necessarily wade into the muddy waters of a Supreme God Mission. But things were different now. It was only a matter of time before he became an Overgod. If he could secretly complete a Supreme God Mission and obtain a Supreme Artifact, the benefits to him would be immense.
In the future, the locations of the Red Diamond and the Nine Spirit Pearls were nearly certain. Only the location of the Wutie Crown could not be fully determined. However, based on scattered descriptions from the original work, before Linley obtained the Wutie Crown on the Plane Battlefield, it had most likely appeared in Wushan Prefecture on the Blood Peak Continent.
If he made arrangements in advance, he might have a chance to obtain all three tokens. Even in the worst-case scenario, he would have a great chance of obtaining the Nine Spirit Pearls and the Red Diamond. By then, if Linley had only the Wutie Crown, and the news of the Supreme God's Tokens did not spread, Ailin might have a chance to obtain the Wutie Crown from Linley.
Thinking of this, Ailin could not help feeling somewhat excited.
"I was merely surprised that you came from a Material Plane."
Ailin did not reveal anything, nor did he continue discussing the matter. He changed the subject directly. "Since you have lived in Blood Nether City for a trillion years, you should know this place quite well. I need you to help me find some High-Gods who cultivate the Death Law. The stronger, the better."
Since he had not encountered any High-Gods cultivating the Death Law on the Blood Battle Stage, he would take the initiative to seek them out. There were surely experts of the Death Law within Blood Nether City.
"Experts who cultivate the Death Law?"
Ek and Glass exchanged a glance. Though curious, they did not ask further. "Rest assured, my lord. Leave this matter to us."
"Oh, right. While you're at it, help me purchase information on the Prefect of Blood Phantom Prefecture. The more detailed, the better."
Ailin added another request.
Since he intended to challenge the Prefect of Blood Phantom Prefecture, he naturally needed to prepare properly. He did not believe that his current strength meant he could truly act without any reservations.
