Background

Li Ping'an was reborn in Holy Soul Village and spent his first six years expecting an unremarkable future. Both of his parents possessed Blue Silver Grass martial souls without Innate Soul Power, while Li Ping'an helped support the household by weaving sandals, baskets, and other Blue Silver straw goods. He regarded becoming a soul master as his only path beyond farm labor and poverty. 1

Before his martial soul awakening, Li Ping'an obtained the Source of Systems. Its main-system interface identified his unawakened Blue Silver Grass and allowed him to distribute Sub-Systems; every ten levels of soul power would provide two more. He immediately targeted Tang San, whose extraordinary fortune would allow Li Ping'an to claim half of Tang San’s Sub-System rewards. 1

After receiving spirit power by intercepting Tang San’s rewards, Li Ping'an entered Notting Academy as a work-study student. He deliberately kept his distance from Tang San after detecting the latter’s hostility over the limited village quota, while still exploiting Tang San’s missions for money, cultivation methods, and spirit power. 4 6 8

At Dormitory Seven, Li Ping'an bound Xiao Wu to another Sub-System after discovering she was a transformed hundred-thousand-year soul beast. Their relationship became mutually beneficial: Xiao Wu sought rewards and protection through the system, while Li Ping'an gained a share of her rewards and learned the combat methods she developed. 12 17 20

After reaching level 10, Li Ping'an bound Yu Xiaogang to a Sub-System and arranged a reward that could provide him with a high-quality first soul ring. Yu Xiaogang’s resulting mission ultimately earned Li Ping'an a 450-year soul ring, which he absorbed to become a healing-type Soul Master. 23 28 32

During a school break, Li Ping'an took advantage of Tang San and Xiao Wu’s trip to the Star Dou Great Forest to enter Tang Hao’s hidden waterfall cave. There, he absorbed the Blue Silver Emperor’s soul bone and subsequently forced Ah Yin into a master-servant contract through a modified system contract. 34 35 36

Li Ping'an is introduced as a cleanly dressed six-year-old village boy whose clothing is simple rather than luxurious. His early Blue Silver Grass martial soul is described as a thin, weak strand resembling ordinary wild grass. 11 32

He is cautious when confronting superior opponents. He avoids investing emotionally in Tang San after sensing malice, forfeits rather than face the one-ring Xiao Chenyu, hides his real cultivation level, and carefully prevents Tang Hao from discovering his connection to Ah Yin’s soul bone. 6 19 39

Despite his opportunism, Li Ping'an genuinely wants to improve his parents’ circumstances and later brings gifts home for them and Old Jack.
