At those words, Trunks's pupils suddenly contracted. He stared over in horror, his worry and hatred from earlier temporarily vanishing.
"Yes and no!" Baros looked at Goku Black's familiar face. He was already able to fight back and had even begun to suppress Kakarot in his normal state. Baros said disdainfully, "That body does indeed belong to Kakarot from another timeline, but the soul inside it does not!!"
"Body, soul... Could it be..." Gohan's expression changed drastically before fury rose within him. "Did someone with an ability like those strange races in the Universes that can steal other people's bodies steal Dad's body from another timeline?"
Back when the Ginyu Force had been on Namek, Saiyan Doro had wiped them out before they could even make a move. Even Ginyu had failed to escape, so Gohan had never witnessed his body-swapping ability.
But that did not mean that, after all his years of fighting across the Universes, Gohan had never seen or heard of powerful espers with such bizarre and dreaded abilities to steal or exchange other people's bodies.
Baros glanced at Gohan and nodded gently.
Although Zamasu did not possess an ability like Ginyu's to exchange bodies, he had indeed used the power of the Super Dragon Balls to forcibly take Sun Wukong's body from another timeline.
"Then Dad from that other timeline..." Gohan trailed off. In the end, he did not even need to ask; the absurd hope in his heart had already been extinguished.
With even his body taken away, no matter how powerful Sun Wukong from that other timeline had been, there was no way he could have survived.
