History

Whis appears while Baros is confronting Grand Kai, prompting Baros to halt his attack 295. Whis questions Baros about the deaths of the Kais and the threat their absence poses to the universe’s stability. When he releases his aura, its reach and force overwhelm Baros and are felt across the universe 296 298. He later observes Baros’s battle with Beerus without intervening 307 313.

After the battle, Whis supports Beerus’s decision to resume training. He watches Beerus enter dangerous Spacetime Turbulence and hopes his disciple will eventually transcend Godhood 329 970 971. As Baros’s power grows, Whis seals Universe 7 to keep the phenomena of Baros’s bloodline awakening from spreading beyond it 1010. He later visits the Divine Martial Battle Star, where his interest in food becomes apparent 1022.

In another spacetime, Whis intervenes after Baros injures that timeline’s Beerus. Baros breaks through his Mastered Ultra Instinct and injures him, leading Whis to use his command of laws and the Time Law. The two move their fight away from Universe 7 rather than risk destroying it 1127 1128 1129 1130 1132.

Whis initially appears ordinary despite the power Baros senses from him 295.

Personality

Whis generally speaks calmly and observes before acting. He can be amused by Beerus’s reactions and by powerful Saiyans, but takes threats to the universe’s stability seriously 296 307 1010. He is attentive to Beerus’s growth and safety, even while increasing the difficulty of his training 970 971. He also enjoys discovering food and eagerly asks Baros what delicacies the Divine Martial Battle Star can offer 1022.
