Although the original story never mentioned a person called Kaguya Jun Tianlin, Kimimaro of the Kaguya Clan was surely a character no fan of Naruto could forget—even if he had only been a supporting character who appeared early on.
When and where Orochimaru, the strongest villain in the first half of Naruto, had taken the young Kimimaro in, and how he had done it, were things Jun Tianlin knew nothing about.
But the one thing Jun Tianlin did know was that although Kirigakure's Kekkei Genkai clans had been wiped out one after another, a few survivors had still managed to escape.
Yuki Haku, who served Zabuza Momochi; Hozuki Suigetsu and Kimimaro, who were in Orochimaru's hands—all of them represented the survivors of those Kekkei Genkai clans!
So nothing else mattered. Kimimaro was what mattered. As long as he stayed with Kimimaro, there would always be a glimmer of hope, even in the face of the clan's destruction.
Fortunately, the identity he'd been given after crossing over was Kimimaro's younger brother. At least that gave him a place at his side, where he could follow him openly...
