With an eerie, androgynous voice, the black coffin opened.

The coffin first trembled, followed by the rustling sound of someone getting dressed. Li could not help recalling the zombies in the zombie movies from his memories, hopping around as they tried to bite people. He found it rather amusing.

After everyone waited for a quarter of an hour, the lid of the black coffin finally stirred. There was first a soft scraping sound, and a few seconds later, the lid was suddenly thrown open. Then a figure dressed in a long black robe like a judge's slowly emerged from the black coffin.

This zombie looked somewhat different from ordinary zombies. His skin looked more like that of a living creature, rather than being stretched tightly over his bones. His eyes moved as though he were sizing up the people before him.

"Cackle, cackle, cackle. You're from next door, aren't you?" He rotated his head as if loosening his joints. "Do you really want this coffin? You should know that I went through quite a bit of trouble to seize it back then."

With his voice, the entire hall seemed to tremble. Li frowned, more or less forming the impression that this fellow possessed Level 16 strength. He was not particularly powerful, but he could not be judged by human standards. After all, the other party was not human, so he surely possessed abilities humans did not.

"Layla, what exactly is that coffin?" Li asked with a frown.

Layla responded, "Turning death into life."

"Huh?" Li froze. If Layla meant that this coffin could turn the dead into living beings, then resurrection could indeed be understood that way—but wasn't that a little ridiculous?

In the undead world, if one was truly dead, then their soul had dispersed! How could they be
