This time, Li's encounter differed from Gulman's. Previously, Gulman had been held back by that bizarre long snake, but this time, Li felt the sand beneath his feet turn as fluid as water. The sandy ground exerted a constant suction, dragging Li downward, trying to pull him straight underground.
Li snorted and rose directly into the air. With his movement, the fine sand was forced aside by the pressure radiating from him, no longer able to restrain him in any way.
However, the strange snake that had just vanished suddenly burst from the sand less than two meters in front of Li, lunging madly at his face.
Halfway through its charge, Li suddenly extended a finger and pointed at it from the air. The gesture seemed to have some effect. The strange snake appeared deeply wary of the aura Li was now giving off and did not dare rush forward. Yet at that moment, the ground within a hundred meters seemed to have been provoked, rolling and churning everywhere. As Li spoke, the strange snakes showed no intention of retreating and merely charged wildly toward him. Li snorted, his body rising several more feet. He stamped downward in midair. Though his foot did not touch the ground, a golden radiance burst from beneath it. With that movement, it seemed as if the entire world shook. The moment the strange snakes touched the light, they stiffened in place as though electrocuted.
Li snorted. "Let's go."
The others hurried toward the rear. Li gave a cold laugh
