For a time, even when Li used fixed-point teleportation, the orcs were able to react and respond with remarkable speed. In the blink of an eye, Li had fallen into a disadvantage.
Li raised his hand and used Finger of Death to forcibly shatter an orc's body, but another orc immediately charged up from behind. This time, Li did not use teleportation. Instead, he directly raised a finger to meet the attack.
A muffled thud rang out. The orc was sent flying high into the air with a bang, turning into countless motes of light before it even landed. Li had directly injected his not-yet-fully-prepared magic power into its body through contact, shattering it completely from within.
But how could those orcs care about that? As though they feared no death, they continued charging at Li. Their weapons swung rapidly as they came crashing down toward him. A trace of killing intent flashed through Li's eyes. He stomped his foot, and a massive amount of magical elements erupted from the ground. The orcs could not withstand it at all and all transformed into motes of light in midair.
Just then, the increasingly intense drumbeats abruptly stopped, followed by a scream.
Li snorted. It seemed Azshara had already dealt with the orcs' shaman. One reason those orcs had run rampant through the desert was that the magical beasts here had no understanding of concepts such as enhancement magic or shaman enforcers. Over time, that shaman had likely come to believe no one would specifically target him, which was why Azshara had been able to kill him so easily.
With the shaman's death, the orcs also froze where they stood. Their eyes were filled with panic. Suddenly, one of them let out a scream, sounding as though it had seen something terrifying.
