If they won, things would be easier to discuss. At worst, it would just be a matter of who got more and who got less—an issue of internal distribution. But if they lost, there would be sacrifices, and they would have to discuss who would be made the scapegoat. For example, the village's forbidden scrolls, or some genius youth who had been active during the war.
It was extremely difficult for one village to wipe out another. Besides, if they did so, other villages would fight all the harder against them in future conflicts, making it more trouble than it was worth.
Li stroked his chin. Could the clan already be planning to make him a scapegoat if they lost?
Li dawdled his way to the village entrance. Most of those gathered there were youths under fifteen, and at most they were Chunin level. In other words, although the entire village could be said to have committed all its strength to this operation, not a single Jonin seemed to be accompanying this group.

Hattori had once been an extremely prominent clan. After all, during the Warring States Period, there had once been a god of shinobi named Hattori Hanzo. But he and his clan had only been a fleeting blaze of glory.
Later, many people who worshipped Hattori Hanzo renamed their own clans Hattori. Li gently shook his head. This guy probably did not have much skill either.
Li shouted, "Hatake Yuiga, Hinata Hyuga!
