After Zeref stopped forming hand seals, even his own body slowly began to fade, before completely merging into the darkness, as though he had sunk forever into an abyss and would never again see light or shadow.
Now, in this pitch-black space, Li alone remained, holding the posture of a statue as he thrust the energy weapon in his hand straight ahead.
Li had no idea what was happening, but this was definitely Zeref's trap. Banishment to another world? Spatial lock? Temporal stripping? One legendary—or perhaps purely hypothetical—spell after another flashed through Li's mind, only for him to reject them again. If Zeref could truly cast such magic, Li would have died countless times by now.
Li soon discovered that not only had his surroundings turned completely dark, but his five senses were also rapidly and uncontrollably fading! What kind of move was this? Li had seen techniques that erased the five senses before, but at least then he knew what was happening. Now, he had no idea what was going on. He only knew that he had fallen into Zeref's trap.
The entire world seemed to fall, in an instant, into a deathly stillness as if time itself had stopped.
Only Li's thoughts remained active. There was nothing else. He desperately wanted to shout and ask whether anyone was still here, but he could not make a single sound.
Was this Genjutsu, or some kind of illusion magic? No, absolutely not! All Genjutsu and illusion magic required some foundation to support their existence. Without that foundation, there was no way to drag anyone into such a world!
Then was it magic? That was not it either! Magic did not exist in this manner. Most magic was based on destruction; forcing him into this state yet not attacking him afterward
