Li directly took the envelope from Invel's hand. There was not much written in the letter—only that Bradman knew they had returned after completing the mission, so he would be arriving soon.

Just as Val and the other two had settled down, the sound of footsteps rang out. The man at the front slowly made his way up to the second floor. Who else could it have been but Bradman?
Li did not know whether Bradman remembered being severely beaten before, or whether Zeref had already erased that memory. Li did not believe that Bradman's true nature had never gotten him beaten by others, but if he had truly been defeated by some powerful opponent, he would never have been able to use that kind of all-or-nothing move.
If that was the case, then there was only one possibility: whenever this fellow was defeated, Zeref would erase his memories of the loss.
But that did not matter to Li. Aside from the fact that Bradman could not threaten him at all now, he was currently August. Why bother arguing with him?
Bradman glanced at Li and frowned slightly, as though something had occurred to him. Then he shook his head. "I heard you completed that mission?"
From his tone, it almost sounded as though he had hoped Li had failed to complete it.
Li smiled faintly. "Those high-ranking mercenaries did put in quite a bit of effort, but unfortunately, they ended up perishing together with that monster. I merely got lucky in the end."
