Yang Wudi leads the Breaking Clan, a declining clan whose hereditary livelihood is medicine refinement. He is known for being stubborn, unyielding, and deeply protective of his clan’s independence. The clan’s past hardships leave him wary of powerful factions and unable to accept subordination lightly. 44 45

When Dugu Bo arrives to recruit the Breaking Clan into Nine Nether Hall, Yang Wudi rejects the proposal and stakes the clan’s decision on a duel: if he can force Dugu Bo back even one step, the clan will not join. 45 Despite using his full strength, including Martial Soul Avatar and Destruction Spear, he cannot move or injure Dugu Bo. 46 47

Yang Wudi concedes the duel without excuses, but demands an alchemy contest before he will be truly convinced. Dugu Bo surpasses him in refining the Breaking Clan’s Barrier Breaking Pill, after which Yang Wudi accepts defeat and leads the entire Breaking Clan into Nine Nether Hall. 47 48
