The Scythe Worgen
Zul'ra thought he should remember such a beautiful Night Elves lady, so he did a quick search and soon recalled her name. ∙∙·▫▫ᵒᴼᵒ▫ₒₒ▫ᵒᴼᵒ▫ₒₒ▫ᵒᴼᵒ ᵒᴼᵒ▫ₒₒ▫ᵒᴼᵒ▫ₒₒ▫ᵒᴼᵒ▫▫ᵒᴼᵒ▫▫·∙∙
"Priestess Velinde." Zul'ra looked at the female Night Elves. Her name was Velinde, Velinde Starsong, a priestess sent by Tyrande Whisperwind to clean up the remaining corruption in Felwood. He had only met her once or twice, but they had never spoken, so he couldn't remember her for the moment.
"You can just call me Velinde." Velinde smiled when Zul'ra remembered, telling him that he didn't need to use the title "priestess."
"Then you can just call me Zul'ra. What are you doing here? Where are you going in the Eastern Kingdoms?" Zul'ra looked at Velinde, slightly surprised, but also on guard. The Moon Priests were the leadership of the Night Elves, Velinde was a close friend of Tyrande Whisperwind. What was she doing in the Eastern Kingdoms with her subordinates? Seeking the Alliance?
"I have some things to take care of in the Eastern Kingdoms, my destination is Gilneas, what about you?" Seeing that Zul'ra was not unfamiliar with her, Velinde smiled and invited him to sit down, explaining her destination while inquiring about the situation.
"I have some urgent business to attend to and need to get back to Zul'Aman." A flurry of thoughts raced through Zul'ra's mind. Gilneas —they should be in seclusion right now, unaffected by the the Scourge. But what would the Night Elves be doing there?
"By the way, how's the situation in Felwood?" Zul'ra didn't want to pry into other people's affairs, as it was too sensitive, so he asked about the situation in Felwood. He had heard that new evil creatures had appeared in Felwood, and he remembered that Velinde was in charge of cleaning up the mess in Felwood.
"Some unexpected things happened during my work in Felwood, and those unexpected things are precisely why I have to go to the Eastern Kingdoms." Velinde held the wrapped scythe horizontally in her hand, making no attempt to hide anything from Zul'ra.
"And this sickle." Velinde unwrapped the cloth from the sickle's blade, showing Zul'ra the blade inside, which contained a white substance.
"This is... a tooth!" Zul'ra stared wide-eyed at the scythe blade that Velinde had untied for her. The blade was blunt and blunt, but rather a curved, pointed cone, white and yellowish in color. It was a tooth, bound horizontally to a spiral wooden scepter, forming a strange scythe.
"Yes, this tooth comes from Goldrinn. He Consecration his life in the War of the Ancients, leaving behind this tooth." Velinde nodded and began to explain to Zul'ra, pointing to the strange scythe made of scepter and fangs in her hand.
"I found this scythe and fang-forged scythe in the temple of Teldrassil. Originally, I thought it was a gift from Elune, because it is very ancient, even older than the Kaldorei. I believed it could help me complete the task of purifying Felwood, so I took it with me to Felwood."
"But I discovered that things weren't as simple as I thought. During my meditation, I saw a vision in this scythe: a group of monsters, like Goldrinn, ferocious and powerful, fighting fiercely against a group of Satyrs. They were full of power, but incredibly manic and completely out of control. Worgen —that name couldn't be more fitting for them."
"Then, even more incredibly, I discovered that I had inadvertently broken through the spatial barrier and summoned the monsters I had seen in the illusion with this scythe—a full thirty of them."
"So, those monsters that appeared in Felwood?" Zul'ra made a connection: Goldrinn, wolves, going to Gilneas —this was about Worgen.
"Yes, but they are not monsters. They have thoughts, they can hear and understand me. At first, I was very scared, but then they helped me on the battlefield, just as I had expected. They helped me purify the Talonbranch Furbolgs of Felwood."
"But I heard that those things attacked your people." Zul'ra looked at Velinde's inscrutable expression and couldn't help but feel a little strange. He turned his head and noticed that Velinde's companions were listening attentively.
"Yes, I can't deny that they did it. They started by helping me, but gradually, I found that they started to disappear. It started with one, then a group. They were no longer willing to listen to me. At the same time, I found that the number of Worgen was increasing. This scythe..." Velinde seemed to wake up, holding up the scythe in her hand.
"It's as if this scythe doesn't need me anymore. It's summoning those Worgen on its own, and they've attacked Katarna's team clearing out the Furbolgs in droves. I..." Velinde seemed somewhat dazed, and her voice began to choke.
"Velinde, your mental state..." Zul'ra blinked, looking at Velinde who seemed to be talking in her sleep, then suddenly waking up and choking back tears. The woman's mental state was somewhat erratic. Those Worgen were causing trouble in Felwood Forest, so why did she go to the Eastern Kingdoms? Shouldn't she have tried to control the Worgen first?
"I'm sorry, I'm not feeling well." Velinde woke up suddenly, looked at Zul'ra, wiped away her tears, and then sniffed.
"Can you tell me why you want to go to the Eastern Kingdoms? Those things in Felwood..." Zul'ra looked at the dazed Velinde, then glanced at her companions. None of them spoke much, only staring at Velinde, as if everything revolved around her.
"I brought everyone I could to the Temple of Mel'Tandris and hid them there, while the rest scattered and disappeared. During this process, I encountered some Paladin who gave me some information, saying that something similar had happened in Lordaeron. I also went to the library in Darnassus to look up some information and consulted the Council of Ancients on Darkshore, but they gave me no answers."
"Velinde, did you tell Tyrande Whisperwind about this?" Zul'ra blinked. After something like this happened, hadn't she gone to tell Tyrande Whisperwind?
"I... I think I do!" Velinde looked up at Zul'ra, then at the scythe in her hand, her eyes becoming somewhat unfocused.
"Velinde, perhaps you could rest for a while, and we can talk about this when we get to the Eastern Kingdoms. Maybe I can offer you some help." Zul'ra looked at the dazed Velinde, then at her companions who were also staring blankly, and felt a chill run down her spine. Something was definitely not right.
"Okay, thank you, Zul'ra." Velinde murmured as if in a dream, then lowered her gaze, but still held the strange scythe tightly in her arms.
"Then you rest slowly. I'll go inform my men first; they're waiting for me." Zul'ra said softly, trying to stand up, but before she could react, one of Velinde's companions suddenly stood up and blocked her way. This was a male Kaldorei, wearing a black cloak, with a green beard on his purple chin, and his silver eyes shone like a full moon, very bright, yet exuding a coldness.
"Okay." With Velinde's dreamlike voice, the male Night Elves who had been blocking Zul'ra's way shifted his gaze and sat down again. Zul'ra turned to look at the unconscious Velinde behind her, then stepped away from the seat.
Zul'ra and the others walked a little further away, then looked back at the unconscious Velinde and her companions who were sitting motionless. They couldn't help but grin. This was not normal. How could something happen to them when they were just riding an airship?
