Lost and Found
The black knights ran into the morning mist and vanished instantly. Zul'ra, panting heavily, recalled the Forest Sword and retrieved her severed hand. While having her attendants wash the wound with clean water, she had her men count the casualties.
After a night of fighting, the losses were absolutely devastating. Not to mention the mounts that died or ran away, all of Velinde's followers were killed, and more than half of his Tooth-Soldiers were also killed. He didn't even know who the attackers were.
Zul'ra disregarded the pain of the dead and wounded Tooth-Soldiers, cleaned her severed hand, pieced it back together with the edges, and then silently used her true energy to promote blood circulation.
When the severed hand was cut off, the wound did not bleed. This was because Zul'ra had previously come into contact with the Vilebranch Trolls and Blood Trolls, and had studied the relationship between life force and blood, gaining control over the blood in his body. This control was further strengthened after understanding the structure of life.
Zul'ra pieced together the severed hand that wasn't bleeding, then silently channeled his inner energy for a while, causing the blood to flow from the severed hand. The skin and flesh of his palm quickly healed on their own. This was the powerful healing ability of the Trolls, and also the result of his cultivation.
Although the palm was clasped on the surface, the nerves and bones inside had not healed properly, and the fingers were completely immobile, and there were intermittent aches. It would take at least half a month to fully recover, but even so, it was enough to leave the onlookers, the Tooth-Soldiers and Velinde, dumbfounded.
"Don't look at me like that. My hand isn't fully healed yet. The bones and nerves inside need to fully recover, which will take at least a week or two." Zul'ra grinned as he looked at the group of dumbfounded people.
"This is already very good. If it were someone else, perhaps this hand would be lost forever." Velinde came back to her senses, still somewhat incredulous, but looking at Zul'ra's pale blue hand, which had recovered completely without a single scratch, she had no choice but to believe it.
"This is an exception for us Trolls. We are born with powerful self-healing abilities. Some say it's a talent, others say it's a gift from the Loa," Zul'ra said calmly, holding up her newly reattached severed hand.
"And what do you think?" Tral asked respectfully, looking at his brothers who shared his admiration.
"Me? I don't think so. I feel that this ability is enough for us." Zul'ra looked at the Tooth-Soldiers with admiration in their eyes and gave a very moderate answer. The Trolls ' self-healing ability is limited, and the Loa are real and can indeed affect the Trolls ' self-healing ability. It's better not to make things up about them.
"Zul'ra, I'm sorry." Velinde looked at Zul'ra chatting with his subordinates, then her gaze fell on the sickle beside him, and she opened her mouth slightly.
"Oh, right, Velinde, speaking of which, I should return the sickle to you, but may I ask you for a favor?" Zul'ra noticed Velinde's gaze and knew she wanted the sickle back, so she spoke before Verind could speak.
"What request?" Velinde's eyebrows twitched slightly, a vague expectation forming in her mind, and her expression became somewhat uneasy.
"I'd like to ask you to let me use the sickle for a while, because I feel that this sickle is very special. Of course, if you don't want to, you can take the sickle back!" Zul'ra didn't hide her intentions. This was a good opportunity to take the sickle away from Velinde and also to see how deeply she was controlled by the sickle.
"This..." Velinde listened to Zul'ra's words, and her expectations came true. However, Zul'ra did not forcibly take the sickle. Instead, she asked and said that she could return the sickle immediately, which made her feel conflicted.
"How long do you need to borrow it?" Velinde asked with some difficulty after thinking for a while.
"I don't know, but I think we can't stay here any longer. Those who attacked us were clearly after your scythe and my sword." Zul'ra looked at Velinde, who was struggling but still managed to slip up, and smiled with satisfaction. It seemed there was still hope for her.
"They didn't achieve their goal, so they'll definitely come back. We need to go somewhere where we can get help. On the way, could you entrust this sickle to me for safekeeping? I promise I won't let it out of your sight," Zul'ra said to Velinde in a consultative tone.
"Alright then!" Velinde didn't refuse Zul'ra outright, because he had given the Night Elves a lot of help and was a friend. Although the scythe had controlled her mind, it hadn't completely twisted it.
"That's great. We can't stay here. It's already dawn, and we must leave immediately. Have you collected the bodies of the guards?" Zul'ra smiled with satisfaction when he saw that Velinde had agreed. At the same time, he asked the Tooth-Soldiers. Half of his Tooth-Soldiers had died in last night's attack. The casualties were terrible, but compared to those who might come back to fight, there was no time to grieve.
"As you instructed, everything is ready. We've even cleaned up the Worgen corpses. But Zul'ra Jin, our mounts..." Tral nodded. They had already cleaned up the corpses of their companions and Worgen, but their mounts were either dead or had run away. The road ahead...
"Although my hand is injured, my legs can still run." Zul'ra thought of her mount and couldn't help but feel a headache. Lunara had given her twenty-one giant deer, which she had brought to the Eastern Kingdoms this time, intending to breed them and eventually get a deer-riding force. Now, all of them were gone.
"Then we must set off immediately!" Seeing that Zul'ra had no problem, Tral quickly nodded to indicate that he was okay. As for Velinde beside him, her mind was completely absorbed by the scythe. She might feel sad about the news of her companions' deaths, but she couldn't think of it at the moment.
Zul'ra tucked his sword into his waistband and carried his scythe on his back. He led Velinde and sixteen Tooth-Soldiers northward, intending to cross the Thoradin's Wall to reach Durnholde. However, to his surprise, as he crossed the Thoradin's Wall, he saw Kulai Mao'er by the roadside.
Not only Kulai Mao'er, but all twenty giant deer were also leisurely gathered together. Not one of them was missing; they had all survived the attack last night, breaking free of their vines and running here, as if waiting for their master's return, even though the master of some of them had died last night.
Zul'ra was overjoyed to find his mount and hugged Kulai Mao'er's neck affectionately. Then he asked everyone to find a giant deer. The group of eighteen people still had three deer left. They rushed out of Thoradin's Wall like a whirlwind and headed towards the castle of Durnholde in the hills and plains before sunset.
