Blood for Blood
Since receiving Zul'ra's help, M'uru has escaped his original fate and has been spreading the new doctrines of the Light in Silvermoon City. In a moment of deep reflection, he sensed a familiar fluctuation and foresaw a scene, thus sending the then- Gandalin to Darion, who needed him at that time.
Darion Mograine was extremely surprised after hearing Gandalin's account, but he eventually changed his mind and followed Gandalin to Silvermoon City to meet M'uru, where he finally knelt before him.
"In M'uru, I saw the truth..." Darion held the greatsword, his eyes filled with grief. M'uru had shown him the truth about his father's death, a disgrace to his family.
The reason M'uru was able to foresee Darion and show Darion the truth about Mograine's death was entirely because of Ashbringer in Darion's hands. The core of this greatsword was a piece of Ata'mal Crystals, the core left behind by the Naaru after their death.
Having witnessed M'uru's power firsthand, Darion earnestly pleaded with M'uru to help him redeem his father. Alexandros's soul, residing in the Ashbringer, was clearly seeking revenge against Renault.
Darion was unwilling to return to retaliate against his brother after his brother had murdered them, carrying the resentful spirit of their father. He hoped that M'uru could help him directly redeem his father, but M'uru was powerless to do so, because the only one who could redeem Alexandros was himself.
M'uru could purify Ashbringer directly, but that would also cause the soul residing within Ashbringer to disappear. Darion naturally could not agree to this, so he pleaded with M'uru repeatedly. In the end, M'uru directed him to Zul'Aman to find Zul'ra.
"Darion Mograine, are you your father's favorite son?" Zul'ra asked Darion, her teeth aching, as M'uru threw the question at her.
"... Yes, Father used to be very strict with Renault." Darion nodded painfully as he faced the towering Trolls. His father's mistreatment was one of the reasons why his brother Renault committed patricide.
"Are you willing to pay any price to redeem your father?" Zul'ra asked very solemnly. Redeeming a person is not difficult in some ways, but it is not easy in others either.
"I do." Darion nodded.
"Then tell me, how will you treat your brother?" Zul'ra pressed, and Darion fell silent in response.
"... Is that important, Zul'ra Jin?" Darion was reluctant to answer the question because he didn't know how to answer it.
"It's not important, but I'd like to know what you think." Zul'ra shrugged.
"Father is dead, Renault is now the leader of the Scarlet Crusade. I... I don't know what to do!" Darion wept bitterly. From his love for his father, he felt he should kill Renault, but he thought killing was pointless, and his father was already dead. As for his brother, his feelings were complicated.
"Your idea is correct." Zul'ra looked at the tearful Darion, understanding his feelings, nodded, and took the strange greatsword from his hand.
Give me the sword!
Zul'ra grasped Ashbringer in her hand and examined it closely. Although this greatsword was called a sword, it was shaped like a large knife, quite similar to the swords of the Burning Blade Clan. The blade tip was bent in one direction and was double-edged. Runes were engraved on the blade, and a crystal emitting an indigo shadow was embedded in the back of the blade tip. That should be Ata'mal Crystals Storm Song.
The Ashbringer is enormous for an ordinary human, with two blades a hand's width and a length reaching an adult's shoulder. However, in Zul'ra's hands, it doesn't seem so huge; it's more like a slightly longer dagger.
"Please do not touch that crystal. The shadow emanating from that storm crystal will corrode flesh." Darion kindly warned the Trolls was examining the crystal with his greatsword. Although the sword itself was fine, the crystal was dangerous and should not be touched.
"Oh." Zul'ra looked at the indigo gem on the back of the sword and nodded slightly as she listened to Darion's words. The Naaru had given the Draenei seven Ata'mal Crystals, and this was just one of them, named Eye of the Storm.
"Alexandros Mograine, I call upon you..." After admiring Ashbringer for a moment, Zul'ra gently stroked the blade and began to communicate with the soul residing within it using necromancy.
As Zul'ra called out, wisps of Ashbringer's blade, which exuded intense shadows, and a transparent figure emerged from it, forming a burly man with slightly white hair and a gray beard. The first thing he did upon appearing was to stare fiercely at Zul'ra.
"Father..." Darion looked at the soul floating out of the Ashbringer's blade and called out softly, but the soul that Zul'ra called to ignored him and only spoke to Zul'ra.
"Trolls, you will gain nothing from me but resentment and hatred. If you desire the power of Ashbringer, you must exchange it for the life of Renault Mograine." Old Mograine's imposing figure was still tiny compared to humans, but Zul'ra floated in the air, his black eyes filled with venom, and his words were both threats and promises.
"No, old Mograine, I don't want anything. I just wanted to talk to you." Zul'ra ignored Alexandros's threats and promises, indicating that she was there to negotiate.
"This is your son." Zul'ra turned to Alexandros and then to Darion, Darion looked at his father's spirit with hope.
"Of course I saw it, Darion, my beloved son, also an unfilial son." Alexandros spoke viciously to the hopeful Darion, causing Darion's face to instantly contort in pain.
"... If it weren't for your disappearance, how could I have been tricked into an ambush by that despicable coward, and how could I have been killed by him? You unfilial son, you wolf cub..." Alexandros's soul looked at his agonizing youngest son, his expression pausing slightly before vicious words flew from his mouth, his tone filled with resentment.
"Excuse me for interrupting you, Mr. Mograine. I have no intention of meddling in your family affairs. I've summoned you here because your son has come to plead with me. He wants you to let go of all your resentment in order to redeem yourself." Zul'ra interrupted Alexandros's attacks on his son and himself, stating her purpose directly.
"Only the blood of that despicable Renault Mograine can wash away my hatred," Alexandros replied without hesitation.
"So, you're saying only blood can wash away your resentment and bring you redemption, right?" Zul'ra translated Alexandros's words.
"That's right, if it's your blood, I wouldn't mind." Alexandros faced Zul'ra, his face filled with malice.
"So be it! Darion, are you willing to give everything to redeem your father?" Zul'ra asked Darion, ignoring the sinister look on his face.
"Zul'ra Jin, I'm willing to give anything to redeem my father." Darion, gazing at his father's soul filled with resentment and hatred, was already in tears, and answered Zul'ra without hesitation.
"That's good." Zul'ra looked at Darion, who was now mentally prepared, and nodded slightly.
"Zul'ra Jin, you..." Darion looked at the calm-faced Trolls and was about to ask what he would have to give up when he suddenly felt a chill in his lower abdomen. Looking down, he saw that Ashbringer, held by Zul'ra, had half of its blade piercing through his abdomen.
The moment Zul'ra handed over the Ashbringer, not only was Darion caught off guard, but even Alexandros, standing to the side, froze on his face with a look of resentment and hatred, somewhat bewildered, staring blankly at the blood dripping from Darion's abdomen along the blade.
