Cleanup and Discovery
At the moment of C'Thun's birth, the terrain of Ahn'Qiraj's Underground Chambers was already beyond recognition. The dark blue-green floor of the chambers was shattered, and C'Thun's enormous corpse, mangled beyond recognition by Zul'ra and the Alliance's Fel, had vanished. Below the colossal crater in the chamber floor lay a pitch-black abyss. ☺💙 🍮🍪
After the self-destruction of the living bomb Jagnos, the entire rock hall was as if it had been washed by lava from a volcanic eruption. The indoor temperature was extremely high, and there was a strong smell of sulfur, which made Zul'ra feel somewhat uncomfortable.
Zul'ra adjusted her breathing and looked around. She saw that every corner of the rock hall was pitch black, as if it had been scorched by fire, and there were traces of green substance stuck to them. The green traces were like flames or blood, and they were deeply corrosive.
"Did it work?" Lulubella stood on the dark rock, peering into the bottomless abyss below. C'Thun's corpse had completely vanished.
"You all wait here." Zul'ra nodded to Felornas, telling the Warlock to stay, then floated down into the abyss. He needed to check the state of C'Thun's corpse.
"It's too unsafe here, how about we..." Sin'dorei warlock K'anomir stepped forward and opened his mouth, but a large purple hand with sharp, black nails was placed on his shoulder. Turning his head, he saw Kaldorei Felonas, whose upper body was covered with black tattoos and whose eyes were blindfolded behind a black cloth, looking at him.
"Stay here." Felornas stared at Kyanomir, green flames blazing in his eyes behind the black veil.
"Alright, no problem." The handsome Sin'dorei Warlock met the Demon Hunter's eyes and immediately gave in.
"Big guy, you say you're a Demon Hunter?" Lulubella jumped down from the rock, looking at the Demon Hunter's body with great interest.
"..." Felornas glanced at the loli-like Gnomes Warlock, but said nothing.
"The Fel in his body is so dense." Xinfeier whispered to Qiubika. Any Warlock with the ability could sense the dense Fel and terrifying aura emanating from the Demon Hunter.
"And he can even steal souls, what a freak." Qiubika's withered lips parted slightly, her eyes fixed on Felornas's icy blue light with great interest.
"Zul'ra Jin, if possible, please bring back some parts of Jagnos." The Orcs Modak suddenly remembered and shouted down, attracting the attention of all the Warlock, who stepped forward and made their requests to Zul'ra.
Just as the six Warlock above were shouting at Zul'ra, demanding that he retrieve Jagnos's body, Zul'ra was flying down from the deep pit in the rock hall and retrieving the Forest Sword, stained with green blood, from a rock more than a hundred meters high. The flying sword had lost its flame-like brilliance in the explosion.
Zul'ra didn't mind. Although she had lost the Forest Sword, as long as she could successfully destroy C'Thun's corpse, everything would be worthwhile.
After putting away the Forest Sword, Zul'ra began to descend again.
During the descent, Zul'ra carefully scanned every corner of the crater to ensure that no remains of C'Thun's corpse were left behind. The Pit Lord named Jagnos truly lived up to the nickname of the Anetheron race as cannon fodder for the Legion. Calling them cannon fodder was too simplistic; calling them cannon fodder was no exaggeration.
The Anetheron, acting as cannonballs for the Legion, were not only incredibly destructive, but their explosions also caused widespread destruction. The fat man, Mannoroth, who was killed by Grom, ravaged the entire Demon Fall Canyon, and the same was true for Jagnos. Zul'ra flew for three or four hundred meters, and all she could see along the way was pitch black, with wisps of green light clinging to the rocks.
After descending for hundreds of meters, Zul'ra finally reached the bottom. Using the green light in the darkness, he raised a ball of the Light, and in its illumination, he saw Jagnos's bones scattered on the ground.
Besides Jagnos's remains, Zul'ra looked around and found himself at the intersection of an underground cavern. The cavern had two entrances, which were blocked by a dark substance. Upon inspection, Zul'ra discovered that the dark substance was left behind after C'Thun's corpse had been charred by Fel.
C'Thun was like a giant worm, living in a narrow underground space. To ensure that C'Thun's corpse was completely destroyed, Zul'ra tried to dismantle the two blocked passages, but he found that the ground beneath his feet was a bit loose and uneven. Looking down, he discovered that the ground beneath his feet was covered with swathes of insectoid carapaces.
"What the hell!" Zul'ra looked at the ground, which was almost made of insectoid carapaces, and shook his head. While marveling at the Old God's perverse aesthetic sense, he summoned the earth elements to squeeze out the charred flesh and blood from the two passage entrances.
Behind the passage blocked by charred flesh, there was indeed still fresh flesh. Zul'ra used the Fel'dan's Skull to spew out a Fel Fire, attempting to destroy it completely on his own.
Zul'ra acted with good intentions, using Fel Fire to burn the flesh clinging to the rock wall to charcoal, exposing the damp rock or soil. But after clearing away a stubborn patch of flesh, he discovered something extraordinary.
Beneath the green flames spewed from the Fel'dan's Skull, the red and white flesh slowly charred and expanded, and then, beneath the charred remains that crumbled and fell away, what was revealed was not damp soil or rock, but a patch of incomparably beautiful, shimmering crystal.
"This is..." When Zul'ra saw the shimmering crystal, his breath caught in his throat. He subconsciously stopped the output of the Fel'dan's Skull, because the moment it cleansed the flesh and blood, he felt an extremely rich and pure Arcane energy, accompanied by a certain opening in his mind, as if some memory sealed in his mind.
Zul'ra had long ago refined his spiritual cultivation, enabling him to autonomously search through his memories. For him, unless he didn't want to look for them, there was no memory he couldn't find. But today, he suddenly had a flash of inspiration and remembered that he had once performed a psychic ritual, an almost forgotten ritual, and the gaze he had encountered in his spiritual world when he reclaimed Deatholme.
Just thinking about that gaze made Zul'ra feel inexplicably disoriented, as if he had forgotten something. After shaking his head, he decided to first check how big the crystal was and why it possessed such rich energy!
The instant his fingertips touched the shimmering crystal, Zul'ra's mind seemed to flash with inspiration, a flood of thoughts passing through him. His long-dormant memories were released, and unlike the previous exchange of mental gazes, this time he felt a clear consciousness.
