In truth, in Prince Liam's memories, Onyxia should have been in Stormwind City acting as her female spy at this time. He never expected that the dignified daughter of Deathwing, the Princess of the Black Dragonflight, would be juggling two roles at once, her schedule so incredibly packed.
That memory was, after all, merely the tip of the iceberg; many things were obscured by the mists of history, far beyond what a creature like a "player" could ever hope to uncover.
However, from the few exchanges with the woman, Prince Liam vaguely guessed her identity. After all, when the ownership of the Alterac Kingdom territory was being determined, Duke Prestor—the human guise of Deathwing—had been one of the most formidable contenders.
This was a process Prince Liam understood clearly, both from his other memory and his own experiences. After all, the other legitimate heir to the Alterac Kingdom, Isiden Perenolde, was currently "visiting" the Kingdom of Gilneas. King Genn had also once participated in the struggle for that land, but given the overwhelming strength of the Kingdom of Lordaeron, there was simply no room for others to intervene, and so the matter had fizzled out.
With the woman mentioning his father, combined with that masterful fire magic and her iconic black hair and red dress, if Prince Liam still couldn't guess who she was, he might as well go to Pandaria, find a block of tofu, and smash his head into it to end it all!
It was precisely because he recognized Onyxia that Prince Liam had so aggressively called out her name. He wanted to ambush this conspirator who had been pulling strings from the shadows; not for any other reason, but simply to vent some frustration on behalf of the little girl, Vanessa.
His other memory clearly recalled how Vanessa's father had become a tool and a sacrifice under Onyxia's schemes to destabilize Stormwind City. He remembered how the little girl had been adopted after witnessing her father's death, and how she had later reorganized the Defias Brotherhood after Varian ignored the refugees in Westfall, setting her on a path of no return.
Of course, because of Prince Liam's interference, Vanessa had been kept by old man Jorach, temporarily escaping the whirlpool that was Stormwind City. It was hard to say what the future held, but at least she now had a powerful backer and would not be reduced to being adopted by others.
Even so, Prince Liam was not prepared to let the deep grudge of the "ruined nation and lost lives" in the Kingdom of Gilneas, caused by that bastard Deathwing, slide so easily. Even if he was facing a dragon, he had to try; when in human form, a dragon might not be truly invulnerable.
Furthermore, he, Liam Greymane, hadn't spent all those years in the manor for nothing! Even if he couldn't win, escaping from Onyxia in a place like this wasn't a difficult task.
Prince Liam thought of many things, yet only an instant had passed. Taking advantage of the dragon's momentary lapse, the firearm he had just put away appeared in his hand once more, but this shot was entirely different from the previous two.
"Bang!"
As Prince Liam pulled the trigger again, what erupted from the muzzle was not fire imbued with magical elements, but a brilliant, golden light filled with divine power—the Holy Light!
Pure Holy Light enveloped the steel bullet, shooting toward the center of Katrana Prestor's brow at a speed far exceeding that of a normal projectile. This was the power Prince Liam had gained from his card possession, the fundamental rule derived from the [Prince Liam] Paladin card: the Holy Light power unique to a Paladin.
This Holy Light bullet, bursting from the chamber, was the true trump card of Prince Liam's three years of training!
The Holy Light-coated bullet struck Katrana squarely between the brows, and one could see it slowly sinking into her tender white skin at a speed visible to the naked eye. Yet, unexpectedly, what gushed from the broken skin was not blood, but a physical fire resembling molten lava.
Under the scorching heat of this flame, the steel bullet wrapped in Holy Light gradually melted away, sliding over the woman's fair skin mixed with the lava-like fire, yet eerily leaving not a single mark behind.
Of course, that was excluding the hole between Katrana's brows, which was healing at a speed visible to the naked eye!
Watching the Holy Light between her brows dissipate as it lost its vessel, Katrana fought through waves of dizziness to look at Prince Liam, who was still aiming his gun at her.
"To actually be able to hurt me, mortal, your strength is not bad! And this poison... it is a pity that any toxin has little effect on a dragon. If you weren't so annoying, I might have gifted you to my dear brother as a test subject. But now... what a pity, I only want to burn you to ashes!"
Viciously venting her pent-up rage, Katrana held one hand out, and a massive fireball condensed, flying slowly toward Prince Liam with a heat capable of melting everything.
She did this because she wanted to toy with the rat before her, roasting him dry bit by bit and letting him suffer before burning him to ash. There was also another reason she would never admit: although the damage from Prince Liam's sudden shot wasn't great, the Holy Light mixed with the potent poison seeping into her body made her feel extremely uncomfortable.
Wishes are beautiful, but reality is harsh; shortly after the fireball flew out, a sharp cry pierced the air from outside the window, blocking directly in front of Prince Liam. It was Coral, whom Prince Liam had secretly summoned with a whistle.
The massive fireball slammed into Coral's body, and, living up to expectations... it instantly killed Coral.
Having grown accustomed to this process, Coral's incubation speed was incredibly fast this time; the condensed giant egg hatched in the blink of an eye. "666 Pyros" made a brilliant reappearance, flapping its wings in mid-air, standing majestically between Prince Liam and the dragon.
The scorching heat wave turned all the room's furnishings into ash, yet it didn't affect Prince Liam in the slightest.
"A phoenix! Are you a mage?! No, there isn't a shred of mana fluctuation on you. Even that old blue dragon couldn't hide his mana in front of a black dragon, who excels in illusion and barrier magic! Who exactly are you?"
The poor dragon shrieked in hatred, her voice changing from its previous gentle, soft tone to something sharp and grating.
Today's encounter was a series of shocks for her. The boy she thought was a thief had suddenly used the Holy Light power unique to a Paladin, and as if that weren't enough, he had suddenly summoned a phoenix from out of nowhere!
Onyxia dared to swear on her true name that she had never seen, nor even heard of, such a freak who could do everything.
With a long, heaven-piercing roar from Katrana, her slender body suddenly expanded. Black scales, curved dragon horns, sharp claws, and massive wings were all revealed before Prince Liam. Her enormous form tore through the castle roof, and Coral, who had been two people tall and appeared quite massive, was now made to look like a tiny chick in front of a fierce tiger.
The dragon before him was no longer the soft and charming Countess Katrana Prestor, but the daughter of the Dragon Aspect of Death, the true Black Dragon Princess—Onyxia!
