Encounter Battle
The Reconnaissance Network is another achievement of Shiro in recent years.
The Reconnaissance Network consists of insect-like puppets, still powered by internal energy, and possesses a certain level of reconnaissance capability.
Shiro's initial plan was to connect the sensory network he constructed to Shiro, but Shiro later chickened out and dared not cut himself.
He was not yet ready to conduct human experiments, so he ultimately chose snakes from Ryūchi Cave to carry out the experiment.
Anyway, there are many miscellaneous fish and snakes in Ryūchi Cave, and they have no status. They also reproduce quickly, Shiro can use them with peace of mind.
However, this also creates a drawback to the technique: it can only be used by snakes, not humans.
Therefore, the best vessel for this technique is the Gray Snake, which is already adept at perception. Now that it is connected to the perception network, it is even more powerful.
However, another drawback of this technique is that the preparation time is too long, requiring sufficient time to temporarily set up the sensory network, and the puppets are very fragile.
Therefore, this move cannot be used in actual combat, and the range cannot be too large or the duration cannot be too long, otherwise the Gray Snake's brain will not be able to withstand it.
Therefore, this move isn't very practical, but this time the Gray Snake has a substitute, well, a snake, so it can be used.
From this flawed Magecraft, Shiro once again realized the inadequacy of his knowledge, so he postponed the development of that Magecraft even further.
After all, while that move might seem cool, if it has significant flaws, someone else could easily use it.
And so, Shiro and the others set up the sensory network as they walked, and finally, by noon, they had finished. For this, Shiro even called the Gray Snake back and had it connect to the sensory network.
Currently, the Gray Snake can sustain a full day of normal reconnaissance, but under high intensity, it can only last three minutes.
Because that mode has to process too much information, Gray Snake's abilities are simply not enough to handle it. However, Shiro and the others don't need it, so there's no need to worry.
After the Gray Snake connected to the sensory network, Shiro and his team's work became significantly easier.
Shiro and his team tested this sensory network. Generally speaking, only Jonin could possibly remain undetected, and even then, it was only a possibility. This is why Shiro didn't give up on it.
Despite its many drawbacks, the effect after setup is quite impressive.
And so, Shiro and his companions made their way to the border without encountering any danger, except for a few ignorant mountain bandits along the way.
Shiro and his companions did not make a move against these bandits, but instead allowed the minister's samurai to annihilate them.
It wasn't that they were hostile towards those samurai, but rather that Shiro and his men's mission was to protect the minister's safety and repel the attacking ninjas.
Unless there are ninjas, Shiro and his men will not take action against these mountain bandits. They are not afraid of anything else, but they are worried that this is a trap and that the enemy will take the opportunity to ambush and kill the minister.
Although the possibility is not high, Shiro and his men have to be on guard.
The samurai were well aware of this, as they knew their own strength; otherwise, they wouldn't have come to Konoha to issue the mission.
However, those with such magnanimity were mostly older samurai, and several of the younger samurai were not fond of Shiro and his Shiro.
Especially when facing the three younger ones, including Shiro, she would snort lightly several times as she passed by, expressing her disdain.
In their eyes, the three of them, including Shiro, had only gotten promoted through connections, since two of them were from prominent families.
That's normal, though. Not everyone sees the scions of wealthy families as cultured. Prejudice exists everywhere.
Fortunately, they weren't stupid; they didn't argue with Shiro and the Shiro, thus avoiding affecting the mission. They merely expressed their disdain through their expressions.
Shiro and the others didn't take this to heart. Shiro was already in his twenties, and with his experiences over the past few years, Shiro had long since stopped doing childish things like getting angry.
Shikaki and Taichi, on the other hand, had experienced too much and were already used to it. They didn't need to waste words explaining these things; actual combat would prove everything.
"Wait, something's up." Suddenly, Shiro received a message from Gray Snake and immediately alerted the advancing group.
The person in charge of the minister's guards was a middle-aged samurai. Compared to the younger ones, he was more aware of the ninjas' strength, so upon hearing Shiro's suggestion, he immediately ordered the group to stop.
"Shiro, what's the situation with the other side?"
"Snap!" Shiro formed a hand seal, reconnected with the Gray Snake's senses, and spoke:
"The enemy is a group of ninjas, quite numerous, roughly around 30 people, but their Chakra reactions are relatively weak; the strongest is estimated to be at the Chunin level."
"There were no obvious signs, so we couldn't tell which village it was from, but they were heading straight for us."
Upon hearing this, Nakamura thought for a moment and said, "Regardless of their purpose, since there are no markers, let's just kill them! To avoid any unexpected situations!"
"In a moment, I will join forces with Minister Taichi, and you, Shiro, and Shikaki, will quickly defeat them!"
"Yes!" x3
"Your Excellency, we'll need your cooperation later. The two of them will handle the opponents. How about you join us in protecting the minister?"
"Are those two alright?" Although this middle-aged samurai was quite knowledgeable, the age of Shiro was hardly convincing.
"Don't worry, this mission was personally selected by the Lord Hokage, and their strength is quite formidable."
After saying this, Nakamura and Taichi retreated to the minister's carriage and silently guarded it. Seeing this, the middle-aged samurai said nothing more and led his men to surround the carriage.
Shiro and Shikaki strolled leisurely to the front, with Shiro immediately firing Shuriken into the woods where the enemy was hiding, signaling that he had spotted them.
After that, Shiro took out a small test tube and poured the blood inside onto his hand, while Shikaki walked into a large shady spot.
"Heh, they're having pretty bad luck." Shikaki looked up at the large cloud above and said with a smile.
"Otherwise, we wouldn't have come to them. Watch out, they're coming."
"Summoning Technique: Blue Snake!"
Shiro's Clairvoyance had been watching them for a while, so after a slight prediction, Shiro immediately summoned the Blue Snake!
"Blue Snake! Snake Binding Illusion!"
"Hiss~ Hiss~"
Upon hearing Shiro's order, Blue Snake did not hesitate at all and immediately used Snake Binding Illusion to freeze the ninjas who had just emerged from the forest!
"This is... the Binding Illusion?! Damn it! I can't move my body!"
While they were still in shock, Shiro did not stop.
"Projection, begin!"
Shadow Possession Technique!
At the same time, Shikaki also activated his Shadow Possession Technique, quickly attaching the Explosive Tag Projection by Shiro to their bodies!
After that, Shiro detonated the Explosive Tag, and the opponent was instantly blown to bits!
