The Final Preparations
"Ding! The Enkidu has materialized, but the lottery function component has completely failed."
"All done? System, extract the Enkidu."
At Shiro's command, a golden chain appeared in Shiro hand, with two cone-shaped objects resembling kunai at each end. (I can't post a picture, so you'll have to find it yourself if you're interested.)
However, the Enkidu are not actually a good choice. Although they have a high-class feel, it cannot be denied that this thing is a divine Noble Phantasm, which is naturally very powerful against gods, but it is just so-so against humans.
Enkidu
Nature: Noble Phantasm
User: Gilgamesh
Function: "Discipline from God"
Gilgamesh's favorite Noble Phantasm. Its true name is Enkidu.
He and his friend Enkidu used this lock in the past to capture the "Gugalanna" that had plunged the land into a seven-year famine.
"The Gugalanna" is a natural disaster in mythology that is entangled in storms. The ability to bind "The Gugalanna" means that the Enkidu can capture enemies not only in solid states but also in liquid, gaseous, or other states.
Gilgamesh trusts this Ea Noble Phantasm more than Ea.
Its function is "to discipline the gods." The higher the Divinity of the captured person, the harder the chains will be, making it more difficult to break free. Very few people are armed against the gods.
Therefore, for Berserker (Heracles), the Enkidu can be described as a formidable and troublesome Noble Phantasm.
Conversely, for those who lack Divinity, this is merely a slightly stronger chain.
But in any case, this is better than getting those useless things, and it will also be very helpful to Shiro's plan, saving him a lot of effort.
Furthermore, this is Shiro's first true Noble Phantasm; all his Projection are fakes, and this one is also a fake, albeit a high-quality one.
However, the Enkidu don't offer much help to Shiro in his usual battles. To the average person, it's just a chain that can be freely manipulated, with limited combat power.
Shiro had heard a theory that all the Noble Phantasm Gilgamesh shot out with the Gate of Babylon were retrieved through the Enkidu, but unfortunately, this still didn't work on Shiro.
His weapons are mostly Projection; a single kunai can last a long time. Once thrown out, it can be Projection without needing to be retrieved.
However, it cannot simply be displayed like this, so Shiro still needs to carefully consider its tactical arrangements.
Of course, all of this will have to wait until later, because during the time that Shiro was extracting the Enkidu, Gray Snake had already used a secret technique to notify Shiro through a contract that the Senjutsu Chakra was ready.
Therefore, with a thought from Shiro, the Enkidu vanished as a golden mist.
This is different from Shiro's Projection. Shiro's Projection of Noble Phantasm returns to its Reality Marble after it dissipates, except for those that explode. (This was mentioned before; if you've forgotten, you can ask in the book review section.)
The Enkidu follow Shiro around in a mysterious way, Shiro can summon them with just a wave of his hand, which is very convenient.
However, Shiro still couldn't figure out what was going on with that state. Shiro felt that it looked a bit like a spirit, but he had no basis for it.
Therefore, Shiro plans to study this technique carefully when he has time. If he could use it on himself, it would make him much more impressive. He just doesn't know if it will work.
Whether it's feasible or not, that's something for later when we have time. For now, we can only put it aside and do what we can first.
Thinking it over, Shiro headed to the isolation room. To eliminate any potential White Zetsu, he had to start with the isolation room and Shiro's bedroom, since the other areas were not yet completed.
After the exclusion is completed, Shiro will need to lay steel plates in a timely manner, which will be very detrimental to the construction of the two experimental areas in the future. Therefore, it is better not to exclude them for the time being and wait until they are completed.
"Summoning Technique!"
A puff of smoke appeared, and Gray Snake coiled around a scroll appeared in the isolation chamber.
"Gray Snake, is this scroll filled with Senjutsu Chakra?"
"More or less, but to be precise, the scroll contains a container for storing Senjutsu Chakra. Ordinary scrolls cannot hold Senjutsu Chakra for extended periods."
"Is that so?" Shiro said, taking the scroll from Gray Snake and spreading it on the ground.
"Untie!"
With a "bang," a large mass of white flesh appeared on the scroll, and Shiro could sense a special kind of Chakra from it.
"How's it going? Is this enough Senjutsu Chakra?"
"Tsk, how should I put it? It's enough, there should be more than enough, but I have to say, as expected of Ryūchi Cave, their storage methods are so novel, it's kind of scary."
"Heh, don't joke around. You think you'd be scared? Also, I heard about what happened last time from Blue Snake, but you were busy, so I didn't ask you."
At this point, Gray Snake paused slightly, squinted, and said, "Are you alright? You didn't practice some forbidden technique, did you?"
"Hmm? Why do you say that?"
"You wouldn't have let us give up your constraints or ignore the line you set for ourselves before."
"Oh, you mean this? I'm fine. People always change. When you gain something, you lose something else. That's inevitable. You have to give up something to gain something. I've just come to terms with it."
"Those who Issei will only be eliminated from the Shinobi World."
After listening, Gray Snake squinted at Shiro for a while and said, "It's good that you know your limits. You have good talent, and we don't want you to become the next Orochimaru."
"Orochimaru- senpai? What happened to him?"
Seeing the puzzled Shiro's face, Gray Snake shook his head. "Due to the contract, we cannot reveal his information to you without his consent. In short, just continue on your path, and we will tell you when the time is right."
Seeing that the Gray Snake wouldn't speak, Shiro shrugged. "Alright, then I'll wait patiently. But I'm really curious about what you're talking about? Senjutsu?"
"It's not Senjutsu; you'll find out when the time comes. If you don't pass the test, there's no need to know."
"Tsk, you're keeping me in suspense."
"Just remember that. I have something to do, so I'm leaving now. We can talk again if I run out of Senjutsu Chakra."
"Okay, you go first."
After watching the Gray Snake leave, Shiro began to examine the piece of flesh that stored Senjutsu Chakra. Shiro didn't take the matter that the Gray Snake had mentioned to heart.
To deliberately change oneself in order to obtain something is not the life that Shiro wants. Shiro can accept a natural change because it is his own choice.
However, there's no need to make a deliberate change. Otherwise, Shiro would have already adapted to the Heroic Spirit Card and become Shirou Emiya, and his strength would definitely be stronger than it is now.
But that's not what Shiro wants, so Shiro won't pay attention to it. If he gets it, he's lucky; if he loses it, it's fate. That's Shiro's attitude towards this matter.
Thanks to Eternal Foam, Kirago, and Danxiao* for the monthly tickets in their current state of despair. And then, in the bottom left corner, you know what I mean (**).
