As the Bucephalus, symbol of the Master of Mankind's sovereign power, it had not left Holy Terra since the Great Heresy ten thousand years ago. Yet this time, it moved, heading straight for the East.
While a multitude of Terra's officials were left wondering, the clever Adeptus Custodes had already begun a new round of betting, wagering on how long Lord Hogg would be beaten for.
Meanwhile, at the Catachan Hive laboratory, Magos Candice Laza let out a sharp, piercing shriek, slamming an axe down onto Hogg's thick skull again and again:
"Are you insane? You dare touch the Primarch gene samples? Aren't you afraid the Master of Mankind will turn you into a mosaic once he finds out? This is a slide you absolutely cannot touch.
And besides, isn't this just handing the enemy a free meal? If the genetic code of the Master of Mankind's progeny leaks, can you bear that responsibility?
You damn rebellious disciple, if you want to die, don't drag me down with you. No! I need to return to Mars immediately; I cannot stay in this hellhole any longer."
Watching the Magos make a move to leave, Hogg lunged forward and hugged Candice's leg, pinning the Magos down just as a rebellious disciple would:
"Teacher, don't run! I haven't even explained the plan yet. Listen to my explanation!"
Candice had absolutely no desire to hear a word Hogg said, terrified of being held accountable by the Master of Mankind should things go south. But the bastard's grip was too strong; she couldn't break free and had no choice but to listen obediently.
Seeing the Magos's emotions stabilize, Hogg dragged Candice back to the cold storage unit, pointing at the twenty-one test tubes that could only be described
