By this point, after six Five-Year Plans and the Second Crusade, the Imperium of Man had recovered some of its strength and completely reclaimed three core regions: Segmentum Pacificus, Segmentum Tempestus, and the Solar Segmentum.

The half of Ultima Segmentum beneath the Great Rift had also been preliminarily cleared, opening up the east-west corridor of the Imperium. The Second Crusade had achieved the results they had originally hoped for.

At this stage, the most important task for the Imperium was postwar reconstruction: restoring production on worlds reduced to ruins and thoroughly cleaning up planets that had suffered only light contamination.

Worlds that had been completely corrupted by Chaos and held little value would be purged outright. Exterminatus was the only fate awaiting them.

But if a planet possessed precious resources or occupied a position of great strategic importance, the Imperium would send in the Deathwatch, equipped with Blackstone Obelisks, to cleanse it. The Adeptus Mechanicus would then turn it into a fortress world.

Yet just as everything was flourishing, a recording was sent to Hogg's Terminal:

"Hogg, you're a damn tyrant!"

"Listen up! I am Imotekh, Overlord of the Sautekh Dynasty! These seven little guys are in my hands. If you want them alive, come to Gamano and face me in a duel for the title of the number one person on the Chain of Cool!"
