Capturing the enemy commander was always a major accomplishment on any battlefield. Even back in ancient Terra, it would have earned you a distinguished service medal.

After all, enemy generals weren't idiots. They wouldn't leave the safety of their rear command posts to run to the front lines and duel their enemies, especially once gunpowder weapons had been invented.

But that was where ordinary logic failed. In the grand stage of the Galaxy—an age called the Space Age but really more like a sci-fi Middle Ages—almost every species' leaders loved to duel on the front lines, with the Tau Empire as the sole exception.

And the more powerful the species, the more likely they were to do it. You could always count on an absurd degree of biological diversity.

But Hogg was all for this medieval peasant-style brawling. Otherwise, he wouldn't have caught this little nobody, Stormlord, so easily.

But despite being a Necron Overlord of some renown, Imotekh refused to surrender even after being captured. Instead, he cursed Hogg out:

"You despicable monster! You have no honor at all. If you've got the guts, let me go! I was just caught off guard earlier. Do you dare fight me fair and square?"

Listening to this idiotic rant, Hogg wondered if this Necron's CPU had gone moldy and senile. Let him go? He wasn't Zhuge Liang. Why would he waste time playing battlefield disciplinarian with him?

Hogg had plenty of ways to deal with old dinosaurs who couldn't keep up with the times. He grabbed Stormlord and began slamming him around wildly, giving him the same treatment as a little Nordic reindeer.

He tore off Stormlord's limbs, then sent several fleshy tendrils burrowing into his Necron body. Tentacles writhed all over him. Looking every bit the villain, Hogg demanded:
