As the supreme leader of the Necrons, the thing the Silent King Szarekh was most infamous for was the foolish decision to destroy the command protocols.

And the Silent King's reasoning was bizarre, too. He claimed he wanted to give the Necrons freedom, which was rather like the neighboring "all tribes are trash" doctrine, with a kind of childlike innocence to it.

But being pure of heart didn't mean he was a bad person. The Silent King could be considered one of the more humanlike members of Necron society, especially by comparison with his peers, which made him seem all the more "kind."

Unlike the other Necrons sleeping in Tomb Worlds, Szarekh had the most advanced body when he underwent Biotransference. Its fully synthetic logical nerves and sensory structures were so advanced and precise that he had no need to go into stasis at all.

If Hogg was a berserker warrior, then the Silent King was a highborn whale of a player, decked out in luxurious gear that made everyone else drool with envy.

Take his throne, for example. A massive fragment of the Burning One, Nyadra'zatha, was bound to it. Through the Burning One's power, the Silent King could access any space whatsoever, making him the greatest lock-picker in the Galaxy—far superior to Old Man Yellow's Golden Toilet.

His Scepter of Eternal Glory, his C'tan Cloak, and his Synthetic Throne, which could dispel the Warp's daemonic energies and provide buffs to soldiers on the battlefield—there wasn't a single thing on him that wasn't an artifact.
