Perturabo watched Khorne's daemonic army slowly retreat ahead of them and frowned. Though she had no head—only a phantom of flames where it should have been—she was still much better off than Ferrus, who had stopped being human altogether.

"What happened? Why are the most warlike red-skinned demons retreating?"

No one answered. Everyone shared the same confusion. Neither the Adeptus Custodes nor the Space Marines knew, and even the Tech-priest, with cables running all over his body and hardly in better shape than Ferrus, was clueless. But that didn't stop everyone from celebrating.

Ever since the Emperor had been confined to the Golden Throne, the Human Webway had been anything but peaceful. Countless daemons had fought tooth and nail to charge through this tunnel and ram Witchcraft Bacon's ass, while the human coalition had held the line here for thousands of years.

As people in the know, Ferrus and Perturabo couldn't help connecting this bizarre turn of events to Hogg and The Angel. The timing was far too convenient. There was no way it was unrelated.

Ferrus made up his mind on the spot, insisting that Hogg had something to do with it. "Pepe, you might not know this, but my brother's pretty open-minded over there. He's got, like, a tiny bit of a connection to Chaos.
